I've noticed how getting a beard to clip to your character's jaw can be quite difficult sometimes (at least on console CC), without having to give them a Buzz Lightyear or Mr Incredible jaw.

So just wanted to see if anyone else had screenshots of their Inquisitors with successful or unsuccessful facial fungus :)

This was my first attempt which seemed alright in some scenes while in others it looked like he was just wearing a loose-fitting disguise :P

Granted that its not always noticeable but once you do its very hard not to see it everytime

I really like your character, could you please share his sliders?

No problem, I might have to try recreate him in order to get the sliders so will probably take a little time.

I've yet to make a decent looking bearded Inquisitor. The placement of the beards is just wrong, the mustache is too low and hangs over the lip, and the beards just seem to run along the jawline. Bleh. I'm forced to have a slightly stubbled Quizy and it saddens me greatingly.

Yes it's a bit of a shame. We'll just have to lust after Dorian's epic stache.

It is true that they have not made any effort on beards and hair, but I can't bring myself to play a beardless Quizy, and this one seems pretty good :)

(I hope my sentences are correct, english is not my native language.)

Here was mine, good enough to survive until Skyhold, but unfortunately the beard clipping with the different armor types was terrible. Hair is one of the most difficult things to render in a videogame, so far I haven't found a single game that does it in a way that I find satisfactory. As far as he was (level 11) I dumped it and started a new one from scratch, without beard.

My goal, when I started my Inquisitor, was him not being a young boy. In DAO and DAII, most of the companions were in the 20-30 age range, however the advisers and companions in DAI are definitely older AND have first hand experience with A LOT of the most trying events of Thedas during the Dragon Age. It is extremely difficult to conceive they not being condescending with my character if he is just a young man (regardless of his personal accomplishments by that time) in his 20s, conversely him being about their age (late 30s, early 40s) makes easier to fit within this group. The beard makes this idea work wonderfully.

At the end playing with the other settings (it was painful to make it work though) I created another 40ish inquisitor (without beard) that I will try to post soon.

Bergstein might not be big, but he has a beard which protects his cheeks from the cold winds of Haven/Skyhold. I think it's been stuck to his face the entire game, although increasing the graphics made it a bit thinner. (Low rez on the left.) The whole facefur tends to behave a bit better.

Spoiler

Cadogan does likes to play with fire, so he only has his mustache and stubble left. But he's bigger than Bergstein, so thats something. The mustache jumps between being the most awesome thing in the world and a fashion disaster. It does make his face a bit wider, so he looks better in his Skyhold outfit.

Spoiler

And since the rest are beardless and/or women, I'll sneak in two Hawkes. Lonely and Lance. Lonely hasn't had much screen time, but his beard seemed to follow his diplomatic manner. Lances nose was simply too distracting to notice his beard, but I remember it behaving properly.

Spoiler

In conclusion, I do rather like the bottom part of the beards, but the top tends to be to close to the mouth for my preference. (Everytime Bergstein drinks he must get a mouthful of beard with it :C). But atleast it's not growing out of his nose like some of the DA2 beards.

(And not having to deal with sunken cheeks is fantastic.)

And the other inquisitors look lovely. :)

Cadogan burning off his beard made me laugh. His moustache is epic though.

This thread inspired me to make a bearded Inquisitor, and I came up with this. Sometimes the beard looks quite well,

But most of the times it looks like a cheap Santa beard, the kind you tie around your ears and that doesn't even touch your face

One thing I've learned while creating my bearded Hawke (I know I know.... not Inquisitor....) is that you need long hair that covers the ears to make the beard look decent and always make sure you have a thick stubble. You're most likely also going to want to adjust the jaw to the beard and not the other way around, unfortunately.

Dark coloured beards also seem to work best in my opinion.
