Finished gameplay for DA2 wouldn't update so I deleted that hero, now I'm worse off

I loaded Inquisition and set up Dragon Age Keep a week ago before I finished DA2. After running through the Dragon Age Keep and learning I might want to finish DA2 first I went back and finished.

Fast forward to now. I log into Dragon Age Keep again. The hero I finished the game with wouldn't update in Dragon Age Keep. In frustration I deleted the character last night... hoping it would "refind" or "reupdate" the Dragon Age Keep website. No luck. I misunderstood the "won't get it back" message on the delete confirmation. (Parts of that website have confused me. It seems like it was made to be pretty, not easy to use.)

So now, as far as I can tell, I'll have to go back and replay DA2 and get a new character to beat the game AND THEN I'll be able to have a full custom world state for Inquisition. That seems to be my ONLY option.

The Dragon Age Keep website is a horrible experience. Am I wear for not caring about the Tapestry? The career section would be nice, if it would update. (I use Chrome.)

Choices from DAO and DA2 are not uploaded. You have to choose the choices you made in DA2 in the Keep. Only thing you really get from uploading a character from DAO and DA2 is a custom portrait.

Just use a default Hawke for your import. It doesn't change anything in DAI.

Or are you complaining about the choices you made not showing up? Because the Keep can't read them, you have to manually pick those.

How do you choose those choices? I don't get that option.....my career section isn't updated so I figured I need to "replay startup" to get that to update.

I didn't know that DA2 didn't change anything in DAI... I assumed since it was part of the "custom world state" build that it would affect DAI.

I don't see ANYTHING about choices in the Keep. I must be missing something super obvious? I do know the careers section has yet to update to show that I finished the game.

Oh,DA2 choices do get some references in DAI,but what I meant is that using a default Hawke instead of your custom one doesn't change anything in DAI. The choices you made in DA2 matter.

And,you have to manually pick those from the Tapestry section of the Keep,as the website is unable to read and recognize the choices you made in the past games.

I see what you're saying now. I didn't realize the DA2 Tapestry actually had FUNCTION. I'll go through and pick all my choices. Hopefully this doesn't take too long.

Ah hah!

I could choose the correct custom hero inside the tapestry ONLY.

I hate the tapestry.

The Tapestry is great and easy to use. The career section is your achievements.

Now I'm starting to think that they really shouldn't have talked about 'importing your heroes' at all because people get confused and this topic gets made like once a day.

Like others have said, you don't import your game choices from DAO and DA2 and you will need to pick all your choices manually in order to create a world state that's similar to what you did. You don't need to own or play the games at all in order to do this.

There is a tutorial button if I remember correctly, unless they removed it.

Also, don't expect your DAI decisions to import correctly into the Keep as it is buggy right now. You will also be able to manually pick your choices once you finish your playthrough.
