The multiplayer looting and crafting system is awful. (armor rant)

The biggest mess is armors. Here's a list of some of the problems with armors.
1. The schematics have no stats before you craft them. I have already wasted mats making 4 armors I have no use for.
2. Different mats even rare mats create armor with the same stats as common ones.
3. You can't salvage armors so you can't get back any of the mats you wasted.
4. You can't sell, drop, discard or otherwise get rid of armors. So I'm carrying around 100 armors.
5. Its hard when upgrading armor to remember which one each class is wearing. I literally have to back out of upgrades go to inventory to find the name and remember it. Go back search through 100 armors to find the right name and apply the upgrade.
6. Armors with the same stats and name kickbutt armor ( a ), kickbutt armor ( b ) its really pointless and confusing.
7. You can't remove arms and legs of armors. If there wasn't so many problems with the armor system this wouldn't be a problem.
I'm sure there's more but honestly feedback is pointless the people who designed MP are so clueless they wouldn't know how to fix it even if they wanted to.

I have played hundreds of rpgs in my days from pen and paper to skyrim. I have never ever had so many problems with a loot/craft system in my life. Before I recommend how it can be improved I would suggest scraping the whole thing and starting over.

I had a tough time getting used to crafting, but there are some things you can do to help you deal with the shortcomings of the system. To help with each point:
1. Note what your current armor class or weapon needs or whatever is before you start to craft. That way, you'll know whether a schematic is worth making or not.
2. This is true in the low tiers, but think of all the gold you can make turning in your found loot for profit while you craft just as good (or better) from stuff you find lying around.
3. Think of selling your crafted armor as selling your castoffs, that you made for free anyway.
4. Why can't you sell crafted armor? Merchants don't pay as much for it, usually, but that's ok, since it didn't cost you anything to make.
5. You'll get used to it. Each class has 3 tier armors, with each tier having 3 variations in style. Examples for rogues are scout, hunter, and prowler, available in armor, coat, and mail. In addition, there are special purpose armors that call for more mats up front, have a fixed look, and have built in upgrade. Examples are the warden armors and formal attire.
6. I can't offer any suggestions, since only you can rename the crafted items to something you can remember.
7. Use the armor/weapon modification station and scroll through your companions until you get to the one whose armor or weapon you want to upgrade. The only upgrades that can't be removed and reused or sold individually are runes. I wound up selling a few Bianca upgrades and armor/weapons with upgrades because I couldn't figure it out.
Hope this helps...
Edit: Ooops. Didn't see it was multiplayer. Don't they have their own forum?

No help at all. You do know I was talking about multiplayer right?

Maker it is a damned shame that so much frustration is caused by an incomplete product and often the appearance that they simply don't understand modern game technology to fix it when they focus on low priority issues. Granted there are some unique issues raised by the rendering technology and that should have been studied long before launch, but so many more standard issues of incomplete, incorrect and simply broken, like DAIMP has never effectively worked from my end. I may have seen a team once, before it crashed. Still works fine in solo mode, but what is the point? I suppose it could be a test bed for companions in that state -I could deal with that assuming advanced behaviors were on the table.
I may log in one day and find it works and I'd rather not see that you've had a stroke over it to make that happen.
Take care
