I heard that last word in the Vorcha's voice.
Me absolutely too! And Vorcha general noises.

I wonder how you play chess now.
I'd personally call chess a game rather than a sport, but that's just me throwing an opinion around.
However, I got a hilarious mental image of a chess player suddenly body-checking his/her opponent before announcing, "Check!" ![]()
Making money off it doesn't mean it is a sport. Competing in some type of ATHLETIC activity makes something a sport.
"an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment."
LOL, good point...
I wonder how you play chess now.
Chess are considered sports, or so says the Olympics. Driving's considered a sport by NASCAR, and Formula 1, and all the people that go see them.
"a number of competitive, but non-physical, activities claim recognition as mind sports. The International Olympic Committee (through ARISF) recognises both chess and bridge as bona fide sports, and SportAccord, the international sports federation association, recognises five non-physical sports"

Chess and other games may be recognized as "sport" by the IOC but take it with a grain of salt. They also include lifesaving, orienteering and tug of war and you won't see people fighting to get those in the Olympics. If I wanted to, I could try to game for a living. You don't get up off the couch and say "Oh I'll be a star NFL QB" but you can be lazy and stay on that couch, never get up again be great at video games just by virtue of playing them night and day. In the general sense, people who play sports are athletes. If someone who games for a living thinks that makes them an athlete they need to get checked into reality.

As I stated before, they don't care about you and your opinion. Their reality is as you stated: Making a living. Its those that don't that need to re-evaluate what they're doing.

There is, afaik, a variation that combines boxing rounds with chess (likely speed-chess). I forgot what they call it, but I saw some pics with people sitting in a boxing ring in deep concentration over a chess board. I guess they have to remove their gloves before moving a piece, though.

It's actually called Chess Boxing - and I like it.

I was just wondering who the strongest Damp players are, today I hit 100 constitution 200 willpower and 100 cunning... I just would like too know what platform the strongest are on and what there stats are out of curiosity ^^
Stats are impressive. Pity they don't mean you can play the game well. Hours sunk into the game does not equal skill.
That said, you probably are good at the game BUT your stats do not prove that you don't go in and wipe in the first area by being cocky/not careful/not playing smart.
Strongest character ? I'm sure you are up there.
Strongest player ? You just plain assume you are the strongest.....lol
Semantics. If you can't understand the OP meant stats and not player skill, then the fault is in yourself.
lol, I am but an ant among giants!

Might take me a few years to catch up with the top (if the MP part of the game still exists by then or have not moved on to something else..)

Re-read it. Stats is the 2nd part. He clearly says Strongest AND what their stats are. Strongest clearly means most skill cause what else is there?
Oh I know what the OP meant
He has his critics but I couldn't care one way or the other. Simply pointing out my opinion on his post.

You eventually gotta stop starpowering through this thread, motherfunker. Running out of likes here.
Damn that goddamn Catwoman stage and all those goddamn spotlights.

Strongest can be and is used here to refer to stats. Nowhere does medallion use the word strongest to refer to player skill, only to stats. Especially after his posts trying to clarify what he meant, it should be clear to everyone that he is not in any way referring to player skill.
One of the most important things in communication is for the listener to try to understand what is meant by the speaker, so even though medallion might not have the best English skills which leaves his statements open to interpretation, you and many other people deliberately choose to interpret medallion in the worst ways possible. You guys may think you're smart, witty, or helping out medallion by piling on him, but you guys are nothing more than despicable semantics whores in my eyes.

I think you need to re-read my posts as well and not lump me in with any other people who may be "piling" on him.
EDIT: I have read the other post you referred to about what he originally meant and I respectfully redact my statement. (I see it a few posts below his original post)
If he didn't want people crapping on him he wouldn't act like such a jacka**. You reap what you sow.
Best thing would be for the OP to abandon this thread. It went way in the weeds from what he was intending.

"One of the most important things in communication is for the listener to try to understand what is meant by the speaker"?
Your hypocrisy is astonishing. You piled on me in a second, insulting both my intelligence and my playstyle because I civilly disagreed with something you said.
Maybe instead of doling out judgements and attacks on other people's personal character, you should take a good hard look at what a weenie you're being.
Take your own advice for once, or just shut up.

I don't know why you spin this negatively, sounds fantastic. ![]()
