This is just a fun little question but was your first class you played as the first class you picked in DA:O and DA2? like for example in DAO my first time I was a Shield Warrior , in DA2 my first time I was a Shield Warrior and in DAI I'm planning on being....you guessed it a Shield Warrior lol
Was your first class the same as DA:O and DA2?

DAO I always played as a dual weapon warrior. DAII I had to switch to 2handed warrior as they got rid of my previous class option. DAI I started as a 2handed warrior but switched to sword and shield as it was the better option in my opinion, but out of my 9 complete playthroughs I only played warrior once and mage 8 times ...

I tend to switch between DW rogues and Mages. My first DAO character was a DW rogue but my canon ended up being a mage. It happened the opposite way round in DA2. This time in DAI my first character was a mage and I think she will be my canon. I have a DW rogue playthrough but I'm RPing a character that's too different from me for me to want him to be my canon.
I don't mind playing as a sword and board warrior mechanics-wise, as I enjoy channelling aggro from others, but I find that "stoic warrior" isn't the character I want for my protagonists. Two handed warriors do nothing for me. I think it's because they come across to me as mindless powerhouses as opposed to clever tacticians.

I ended up with...
Archer for DA:O
Mage for DA:II
DW for DA:I

I always start with DW rogues, though this time around I was kind of torn between it and mage and archer rogue, now leaning heavily on the latter.

Yeah, I always start a game with rogue (dual wield). I loved this class, especially in DA2, but in Inquisition it felt a little... I don't know, boring? I was disappointed, very much. In the previous game rogue felt more alive or... yeah, not sure how to explain it. I finished the game as rogue, of course, but on my second playthrough I just picked mage. I feel like I betrayed my rogue canon... ![]()

All three games I've played as a duel-wielding rogue; the only difference is:
Origins - Female noble
DA2 - Male
DAI - Female Dalish elf

DAO: Dalish DW rogue, DA2: human (duh) 2H warrior, DAI: Dalish mage

Usually a rogue. Then I'll play mage, and can never seem to do anything else. ![]()

In the past, the rogues had the clear advantage when it came to progressing through a lot of maps, especially in Origins and DA2 with the plethora of traps everywhere, not to mention the locked chests, but here, it seems like mages get to do the most, because only they can light veilfire, magically seal tunnels or make paths, and these things happen so often in the game, whereas lockpicking tends to be minor and doesn't even gain XP anymore.

I rather liked that about DA:I, actually. While playing Rogues in the previous installments was enjoyable enough, it was nice that in DA:I they removed that edge a bit by attempting to give the other classes walls to break or obstacles to... energize, I guess.
Though Mages do have the veilfire advantage now, true! XD

Not at all. I prefer rogues to warriors in DAO, and prefer warriors or mages in DA2. And first playthrough? First playthrough of DAO was a sword and shield warrior... Hated it. I now realize that I only really like dual wielding in DAO, and learned that I prefer rogues in DAO (though I am fond of dual wield warriors). And rogue in DA2 is a little less fun to me than it is in DAO. Mage for DAI first playthrough.

Same as DAO but not DA2. Went rogue for DAO and DAI, but my first Hawke was a warrior.
I was planning to play a mage first in Inquisition, but then they brought back race selection and, well, dwarves!!! I made her different from my first Warden by going dual wield instead of archery.

I didn't mind that warriors and mages can also now let you into places that other classes can't, but I would've preferred these skills to be tied to character builds. The only one that gets upgraded is lock-picking and that's just one inquisition perk...

No I chose Warrior in DAO because I wanted to be big and manly
tried all 3 classes in the opening of DA 2 and settled on rogue because flew around the screen like a whirlwind and it was a nice contrast

Yep. I always start as a rogue type character.
DAO: DW rogue (DW two swords as soon as I could unlock the ability, not daggers)
DA2: Archer (I wasn't a fan of DW in this game; I preferred the way the archer moved along with still having melee ability if someone came too close, I wish we still had that ability)
DAI: DW rogue

Yes, I always seem to make my first character in each game a mage and then my second character a warrior. I think it is because I always like mage gameplay the best so it's the preferred class to introduce myself to a new installment with.

It reminded of this:

Leliana had a knack of warning us about traps a split second before we step on them. Never mind Zevran, that liar.
