Hey guys, first time posting here. Got hooked on DAMP about last week or the week before, and in my time playing I have come across some very good players, but also some very bad ones. I was just wondering, what type of players do people not like playing with? For me, I get endless anger playing with people who just speed run, skip all the rooms, and all the gold.

Now I understand that these may be experienced players who have all the loot and coin they need, but that is not the case with these people. They have standard equipment and no armour upgrades. Whats worse is when they Rambo when they clearly are not ready for it. For instance, was playing threatening on two occasions, one with a hell bent level 7 assassin and one with a level 16 elementalist. I was playing as my AW, and was having no difficulties, clearing the rooms for my teammates. Only for these two players, one seperate occasions, to just run through the room, causing us to miss a lot of gold and rooms. I realised that I was the one keeping these people alive, so when they ran out, rambo style, I sat back for a bit. Only for them to straight away die, and start smashing the "over here!" prompt. Healed them, and they did the same thing.

Needless to say, they were soon kicked.

You'll eventually get bored of treasure rooms too.

AW players and honorable mention goes to reavers, it's the player behind the class and the e peen scoreboard that drives these types of people to run off and think they have something to prove or believe they are actually good. I've always stated that if you actually need an AW to score and extract well on perilous, your not a good player or teammate but just someone relying on a crutch class to carry you through. I have nothing against the reaver class because it's the person behind the character that gives her a bad name. She is most often maligned because all they seem to do in pugs is spend time in the fade or downed.

Why so specific? I hate people pretty indiscriminately.

1. Keepers who have forgotten how to cast barrier and then cry for rez when they are face down..

2. High Level players in Routine

3. Abusive chat or players who think they are better than everyone else in the game(although I tend to mute them or just leave game)

Also, in some matches the players just don't click, it might be their individual playstyles or the way they use their characters, I tend to hop around a few lobbies until I find a team which works well together..  Its so much more enjoyable to work together and make full use of combos.

I tend to adapt to whatever the group want to do, open doors, don't open doors, if you do open the door however I expect you to help kick that Revenant back into the fade, not just run off like a lunatic to agro the next mob and die.

I had a Katari trying to do the skip-all-the-doors routine yesterday. He was being a dick and refusing to go back to get warrior doors. Fortunately I was playing a necromancer, so I trolled him by spirit marking the last enemy so the little bastard would have to wait for it to die before he could move on to the next room. Still didn't come back to the treasure room, but it gave me some satisfaction.

Has anyone done a mathematical analysis of whether the time taken to loot rooms makes economic sense relative to finishing the match and objective waves as quickly as possible?

People who open up treasure rooms when you're already engaged in combat with the normal enemies, thus loosing who knows what on your backside.

What's the actual point of opening doors and wasting time or worse getting your team wiped in the process? Free doors I can but It's obvious the amount of gold/items found isn't the greatest but is it the horde everything in sight mentality found in most rpg games? I'm just saying the time it takes to take out a revenant in perilous far outweighs the benefits.

If the rest of the group is not interested in treasure rooms, then do not be that idiotic guy standing there spamming "F4" while they die somewhere else.

Follow the flow of the group/battle.

I end up speed running as often as not these days but never by choice.  A team should be able to easily get all rooms and pots and still make really good time if they move as a 4 person group.  That almost never happens though except for routine.  Pity.

Part of the problem is the way enemies attack. You clean out a room yet lines of them still trickle in. I keep walking forward killing anything foolish enough to run towards us but eventually I end up having cleared the wave without meaning to go ahead so far.

Sounds about right, punish the group because someone didn't do what you wanted to do...

Me.

Haha me too! Plenty of players hate me, and I am fine with booting them. My squads generally perform some of the hated actions too, but I correct people for performing ineffective actions (or they get the boot). It is explained why their actions are ineffective, or bad of course, but in general when there's something team-threatening or slows down clearing.

i.e. Keepers that chain lightning.

We open doors if it is convenient but only  players open them while the rest clear. If they need help on a guardian they ask for it. Announcing doors are being opened is a requirement though. Skip doors if it takes too much time.

one with a hell bent level 7 assassin and one with a level 16 elementalist

I sat back for a bit. Only for them to straight away die

Healed them,

I don't rez bad players (part of being bad is no communication & willingness to learn). Either one of those two should've been able to solo clear while you get doors, let alone both clear together. Good job giving them the boot.

because all they seem to do in pugs is spend time in the fade or downed.

Fade players are always hated.

If you are hoarding gold for the DLC, it does make sense to open up all the treasure room chests.  After all, how are you going to bump up your invisible number stat unless you open up the chests?

Obviously, you will be better positioned to get new, shiny DLC loot, the better your invisible number stat is.

I'm the opposite, i get annoyed now by players who want to open every single treasure door, and worse, wait until you've cleared the area and are on the way to the door and they spam "Over here!" a million times so you can run all the way back and open a treasure room. Pisses me off.

Anyone that gets mad at or doesn't cooperate with the rest of the team. I hate it when people whine and rage about someone opening doors or not opening doors. Or just raging about any stupid little thing.

If you are upset just leave, i dont want to hear you rant and there is no reason to be abusive. If you can't stay civil with a group of strangers for 15-20 minutes to finish a run then you have deeper problems than not getting to 50g from the treasure room.

Keepers as well who do not barrier the rest of the team really annoy me. If I play as keeper, I am right beside my team, making sure they are protected. Especially when somebody tanks, the common respect should be to give them as much help as possible.

My most hated person would have to be the stupid sleeveless mug in the chest shop!! I swear he is robbing all my loot!! But he gives me a lot of daggers, nice 40 dps daggers.... :)
