Hi there :)

I've been searching around the web for ages now but haben't found the answer to my question yet. Therefore I thought I'd just ask myself:

Is it possible to romance a second character after breaking up with the first one?

I've started with Dorian and by now I have completed all of his quests and seen his scenes. As nothing new seemed to come, I've decided to start the Iron Bull romance. Right now I've completed "Demands of the Qun" and flirted with him at some points. Now the first romance scene should trigger, but nothing happens...
The only thing I can do is "Start the relationship with Dorian" upon talking to him. Btw I didn't start "Here lies the abyss" yet.

So, did I miss something or is it just not possible to start the romance with Bull (or anyone else) anymore?

:) Please help,
Parasun

Each romance will have points where you can break up with them and start a new romance.  Unlike DA:O though, you can't just start a conversation with them whenever and break up.  It can only be during certain points.  So once you're locked in, which it seems that you may be, then you're locked into that romance.   If you would prefer bull, you would have to go back to an earlier save before the final romance scene with Dorian and break up with him then.

There are some romances you can end whenever you want Cullen and Bull come to mind, possibly others but they are the only two I know of for sure.

Blackwall locks you in early and you cannot end his until much later in the game. Same with Solas. (story reasons)

But you should be able to end a romance and start another with any of the companions.

You say you have done all the Dorian scenes....if he is like any of the others there would have been one scene where you would have been given the option to break up with him or commit to him (Usually the sex scene). If you committed to him than no you wont be able to start another romance but you may still flirt with some others.

Thanks for your replies :)

Yes there was a scene where I committed to Dorian, but the "normal" dialog, where you can choose to kiss or to spend time together gave me the option to break up, what I did. And he agreed :/ (he never thought the gay relationship between the Inquisitor and a mage from Tevinter could last)

But maybe that doesn't matter for the game :D so I'll just reload the file where I didn't break up and just save the Bull for my next playthrough. I also have a file before the commitment scene, but well... since then a lot lot lot of time has passed :D so that's surely no option...

Thanks again :)

This is preferable. As the others said, you can start other romances later. BUT you need enough approval etc. to do so. So if you keep flirting with others, even after commitment, this is not too difficult to achieve. But if you had decided on Dorian early, it might be difficult to gather enough flirting with others after the breakup. However, it's better to run through one romance anyway. For example: I tried romancing Solas but kept flirting with Cullen. After breaking up with Solas in his last cutscene (last chance to do so, because Solas is one of those you cannot break up with outside of cutscenes), I could start a romance with Cullen, but I had already missed out two of his romance scenes because I had progressed so far in the story. It's not so much, but it does lessen the experience.

In the case of Bull, he gives you a companion quest before you can fully commit to him. So it's not too bad to start his romance earlier.

Also, I keep hearing how adorable the Dorian romance is, so you shouldn't be too disappointed I hope. ;)

No, not disappointed at all!
I really liked how surprised he was, when my Alex told Dorian he loves him :)
Well, I chose Dorian in the first place, so it's not a problem to stick with him at all. :)
