Regardless of the leak (which mentions a krogan squadmate and a krogan colony), they Already shown a krogan Last year. It's almost sure they're in.

I did not base my comment on the races we'll see in the next game, just how I think the situation would've played out :) And I've seen that weird krogan (there are also turians and salarians in the same trailer) ;)

As much as I'm loathe to say it, I'd have to go with Quarians (sniffle,) Geth, Hanar and Drell.  Quarians will need to rebuild their homeworld; the geth could be dead; the Hanar got hit pretty hard to by the Reapers and will need the Drell around to help them out.

Well i still dont buy this Ark Theory but just for the fun:

Leviathans: tProbably bigger than the ship.

Raloi: their fault for turning tail.

Yagh: They make krogans seem like gentlebeings.

The Geth and Quarians are my favourite races. I hope they stay. If I had to pick two races to drop, I'd pick the Volus and the Elcor, because they're the least memorable to me. BTW, they can sidestep all the ME trilogy choices by saying they launched the Pathfinder Initiative around the start of ME1.

I'm gonna get a lot of crap for this one, But if i really could get rid of one species, That'd be the Krogan.

The devs have already shown concept art for the next ME game that shows Krogan.  Plus, they did say that some races will be returning.  Your Joker is invalid.  :P

I'm still puzzled about this. If these guys were from the Milky Way, then the ending would have effected them anyway. If they left prior to it, they wouldn't be able to get far enough without anyone noticing them. If they were already colonizing before anything happened, then it makes very little sense to have N7 stuff or any races working together.

On top of all of that, it all feels a bit too convenient.

Alright, let's see here:

Humans: Of course they are on board. They were supposed to be kicked out because apart from Shepard (who is not coming) they are all useless or madman but the ME marketing department pushed them through anyway.

Asari: Sure, they are just going to talk their way in and failing that, they'll just use ... other persuasive arguments.

Turians: Being one of the greatest military powers in the galaxy helps you getting into programs like this for sure. They're in

Salarians: Even if you tried to keep them out, they'll find out about it and blackmail you into taking them or something. Besides, they probably came up with the whole idea in the first place.

Krogan: 200 pound heaps of flesh that are territorial and get aggressive during prolonged confinement (e.g. during space flights)? Not on my generation ship. I'd leave them at home.

Quarians: The race that managed to stay alive on board of huge generation ships for over 300 years? You bet I want them on board. They gotta have some expertise on in-space survival plus, awesome mechanics. That what you need.

Geth: Maybe if they offered to run some of the ships systems for you. They might be useful and without mobile platforms, they don't really take up space either. Welcome on board.

Volus: They probably bankrolled the entire endeavor in the first place, so I guess we are taking them.

Elcor: Too big, too slow and not comfortable on space ships. Regretfully: Good bye big guys.

Hanar: Only if they offer to help with water recycling on board ... and no, I don't want to know how they do it.

Drell: Hmmmm, can't really think of any reason why we should take them, except maybe for recreational skin licking ... nah, I'd rather install a distillery on board, they are out.

Batarians: Well, there are not many left anyway and no one really likes them, so I guess they are out.

Vorcha: Wouldn't exactly take them but you can bet they'll infest the ship before we take off. Just can't get rid of the little buggers. Oh, one more reason to take the Turians btw, provided Cpt. Gavorn is among them. Same goes for Thresher Maws, there will be some spores around, I'm sure.

Rachni: We could take some eggs if the queen asks really nicely.

Yahg: If the Salarians want to take a few, they are out, too, so no Yahg.

Varren: I want to take Urz

Pyjak: We'll leave those with the Krogan, hehehe.

Don't want to see any gone, but Batarians. And probably Vorcha. If Bioware eliminates Volus, they truly have no heart.

Unless we take the Quarians and they make a new AI (without meaning to) and start hating on it.

Hmmmm.  Could happen.  Don't think it will...

But it could.

I think we should see Batarians, just to have one as a companion finally

Bray is absolutely crucial to the preservation of organic life in the MEU, so we're getting a batarain, dammit.

Please no. We've had enough criminals for companions.

In Mass Effect? We've only had two. Unless you consider the Cerberus crew a band of criminals.

Liara stole Shep's ME1 millions, that's pretty criminal

Wrex, Jack, Kasumi, Zaeed, and Thane were for certain criminals. Arguments could be made for a few others.

Great. More good news.  <_<

Also, why would criminals be allowed on a ship with an important mission like this?

You do something of questionable legality at some point in every Mass Effect. You're whole crew is technically a bunch of criminals.

However, the only characters that really act like it are Zaeed, Jack, and Kasumi.

Because one doesn't need to abide by the law to be good at things. In fact, I'd argue that being a criminal makes you likely better suited for a suicide mission.

asari - they didn't care about the other species in ME3 so the other species will kick their sorry fifth point of contact off the ship

Butt is the 4th POC.

OT: Geth,Vorcha, and Yahg are out, expect everyone else. Definitely all Council, Embassy races, and the Quarians (who else is going to keep these ark ships running the whole trip?) Batarians are a maybe, it's doubtful though.

Geth are still hated (if the exodus predates ME3)

No one ever liked the Vorcha.

Yahg are just nope.
