Considering they don't harm you in their reproduction process then no they aren't.

I think the numbers are much bigger than a mere 1000......more like a Moses style exodus. PLus I doubt that a powerful race as the Asari are going to be ok with just one of their race. Put a 100 and you are more on the spot.

ME:Exodus. xD there you have the title

Yeah I was just stating the minimum necessary, not how many would actually be on it :)

1:Rachni Queen Egg, they only need a single queen to repopulate their species, and we have documented findings from Peak 15 on Noveria that indicate an egg can remain un-hatched for at least 2,000 years and still produce a viable offspring. Plus with Rachni being natural experts at engineering, what better race to help establish infrastructure and housing once the ark reaches it's destination?

I also hope they bring an egg with them, I really like the Rachni, but the chances are really really low.

Nah batarians can't be out until I see at least one of their ladies. Same for Volus and Drell.

http://masseffect.wi...ki/Irikah_Kriosthere is your female Drell. now we just need to be able to  bang it

Like I mentioned earlier I doubt they want to bring too much of the old system. Bringing the Rachni would present old problems and issues in their new game which is something they are trying to avoid hence the new galaxy.

BW is going to bring the strict necessary that they feel make a ME experience so that people will accept easily the new races and elements they want to introduce in the franchise. I don't expect tbh Rachni or Geths.

Don't remind me  <_<

Even if one doesn't particularly trust the queen, or like giant space bugs there is no denying that outside of Thorian and the (ME 2) Geth, no other species even came close to capturing that 'alien' vibe that the Rachni did. Now with the Thorian dead and the Geth 'fixed' it really falls down to this one species as being actually different than the human-like norm that all the other species have.

If for no other reason than for the sake of variety, the Rachni need to make it into the new game.

Hopefully someone smuggles a Rachni Queen egg inside the ship.

Yes, I hope the rachni make it into ME:N. Even though it seems unlikely. On another note, I do think it will take place after events of ME3. If we can believe the leak there are krogans as both companion and colony present in the game. That means that the genophage has to be cured for the krogans to colonize and repopulate.

I can remember quite some time ago, BW made a survey about the next mass effect. Some of the questions had the topic favorite/least favorite species. Maybe this could give some pointers for what we could expect in species cutting.

For my personal wish about what races make it:

- Humans: Jack of all trades

- Turian: warriors and tactitions

- Salarians: geniuses

- Asari: eye candy; biotics and diplomats

- Krogan: great warriors and can survive in most environment

- Rachni: great for consrtuction, safety and exploration of hazardous planets

Though I do hope we see Elcor, volus ect. in the game. They just won't be colonists.

The problem with the Rachni is that we perceive them with Shepard eyes however in the eyes of pretty much everyone else (in the galaxy) they are perceived as a threat or an unrealiable ally at best. Same goes for the Geth.

If we don't want to throw the history of the game out of the airlock, i cannot think of a single reason on why the people who organized this project would bring Rachni eggs or Geths with them. It's like escaping a threat by bringing old enemies with you on the escape route.

The only alternative I see is that IF someone smuggle an egg for them and for the Geths if Quarian colonists build new ones once they arrived there. Tali mentioned if you make peace between them that some Geths uploaded into their suits to help their immune systems....so BW has a lot of alternatives to bring old races back. We shall see really.

Well that would depend on when the ark would have left the Milky Way. If it was after Thessia, which does line up with what the Asari councilor said, then the galaxy has seen the Rachni providing engineering assistance on the Crucible, and the Geth fighting alongside us against the Reapers. If the majority of the galaxy perceived the Geth or the Rachni as a threat then why would they agree to have them incorporated into their armies, or let them work on the single most important project in the galaxy?

Even if we assume that the average citizen viewed these two races as evil in-human(oid) monsters, the higher ups in the various governments and militaries would see the advantages that they would offer in trying to colonize a new galaxy.

I do agree that there are multiple ways that we can explain why the Geth and Rachni could make the journey, I just hope BioWare will use them.

All fair points, God I so hope BW use that Geth upload into quarian suits excuse because it has several advantages. The Geth wouldn't occupy space allowing a swift and discrete transportation and by the time they arrive to Andromeda the Quarians immune system would be strong enough to make masks not necessary. Tbh I want unmasked quarians in the next game.

So you want a canonized Synthesis?

Because I would be sad. :D It not only goes against the ending choice for people, but how they might've viewed Shepard from start to finish. I mean, it takes a whole roleplaying concept to even want to think that way.

Tbh Tali mentioned that stuff about Geths uploading into quarian suits well before the ending if you achieve peace with the Geth, no need for synthesis to be canon.

Oh did she? I'm drawing a blank then. Sorry.

I know javik mentions something similar, but negatively, of course.

Wait... would that still work if you chose destroy?

I never even considered this.. I'm not sure what's being targeted by the Crucible. Hardware... software?

Don't know I think the Geth would die because in the cutscene of High-EMS Destroy there are just Quarians (but maybe they are uploaded somewhere who knows), however if the Arks leave the galaxy before the endings then it won't matter anymore since they are out of the reach of the Crucible.

Bar bouncers. Andromeda is gonna need some old fashioned night life... I doubt they have any decent space bars.. I want a Volus who will set up a club. And the Yagh could come with.

Jokes aside, that does bring up a good point about Andromeda.

Does anyone think that BioWare is going to have the races inhabiting the other galaxy be relatively 'uncivilized' compared to us? Are we going to be like the Spanish Conquistadors upon discovering the Aztecs, and just start taking their stuff?

I mean logically, a native alien population would have their own infrastructure and supply lines pre-established compared to the mass of refugees coming in from the Milky Way so unless Andromeda is technologically undeveloped I don't see how a small band of outsiders can hope to compete with beings that have evolved and developed here for and undisclosed amount of time. I guess the narrative could plop us down in an uninhabited region of Andromeda, but garden worlds are usually highly prized by most species.

This could provide a nice morally ambiguous scenario for the player, as we are undertaking an imperialist expansion into uncharted space. What right would we have in taking worlds and resources from other civilizations present in the area? Would we try and negotiate, or just take what we need by force? Unfortunately, I don't think BioWare would go with something like that, I have never seen them craft a story that showed humanity (as a whole) in negative or morally dubious light. Typically, they have the evil aliens/monsters being the aggressors, instigating unprovoked attacks on us, and generally giving the player something to kill without consequence.

The Khet race mentioned in the (supposed) survey doesn't seem to posses any redeeming qualities; they look to just be a chaotic evil faction that opposes the player. It could be very interesting if the Khet are actually an established species with depth of character and they are attacking us because we are muscling into their territory, taking their resources, and generally pushing them off of suitable worlds.

You do something of questionable legality at some point in every Mass Effect. You're whole crew is technically a bunch of criminals.

However, the only characters that really act like it are Zaeed, Jack, and Kasumi.

You can, but you don't have to.

In this instance they wouldn't be, it's only their past

Um, yes they are. You are the sum of your past actions.

Because one doesn't need to abide by the law to be good at things. In fact, I'd argue that being a criminal makes you likely better suited for a suicide mission.

Except if this is supposed to be the salvation of the galactic races back up plan, they won't waste space with criminals but rather people who warrant surviving more.

Plus it is an exploration mission, not a suicide mission.
