See now this is why I don't like the new setting.
I can (begrudgingly) deal with the loss of the Milky Way (even though less than 1% of it has been explored), I can deal with the loss of familiar locations like the Citadel, Omega, Palaven, Surkesh, Earth, etc. (even though each spot has ample opportunities and angles left to experience and explore). I can deal with another human only/human-centric title (even though I feel like our species has reached borderline Mary Sue status), I can deal with N7 being prominently featured again (despite the fact that there are hundreds of other military organizations that we haven't seen yet.) But what I can't stand is the thought of us abandoning any of the various alien races that helped give Mass Effect that unique 'spark' (especially the more non-human/'alien' aliens). I hate the fact that we have to play Russian Roulette with these races based primarily on their popularity.
BioWare can and will give us new Andromeda aliens, but how many of those are going to be a repeat of the trope of one of the Milky Way races? How many are going to be 'Not Batarians', 'Not Rachni', or 'Not Quarians' etc? How many of these new aliens are going to be more than 'humans in rubber suits'?*
*Let's be honest, BioWare is not very good at adding new 'alien' elements to existing franchises.
