So there is a kit, that I kind of like, and I played it somewhat, but I don't do it anymore, because everytime I do, all my keybinds are reset to default.

You all know what kit I'm talking about - the Talon Mercenary.

I also know there is a description out there how to make my personal keybind the default one, so that the Talon Merc reset does nothing. I tried to follow that, but I wasn't able to. 1st it was really complicated, and when I realised, that I need to map mouse buttons, this tutorial didn't tell me how I can do that. It was also quite some time ago, so I don't remember how it's done...

but...

I would really like to play that goddamn Talon Merc.

I would really appreciate it, if someone of you guys could tell me step by step how it's done.

Yes, as you can seee, my english is quite good, even it's not my mother tongue, but be so kind and eplain it, like you would explain it to a child, or someone as dumb as a brick. So I can be sure to understand it.

My preferred keymap:

Forward: w

Backward: s

Strafe left: a

Strade right: d

The Everything-button (run, cover, use, revive...): left shift AND e

Walk: Left Control (this one is unimportant)

Fire: Left Mouse Button

Aim: Right Mouse Button

Reload: r

Melee: f

Swap Weapon: x

Next Weapon: Mousewheel Up

Previous Weapon: Mousewheel Down

Command HUD: Space

Power1: Thumb Mouse Button 2 (Mouse Button 5)

Power 2: Thumb Mouse Button 1 (Mouse Button 4)

Power 3: Middle Mouse Button.

All other buttons are irrelevant and can stay on whatever default is.

I would be really, really, really grateful.

Whoa. Suddenly I don't feel so bad about avoiding Talon Merc like the plague.

Yep, It could be worse, it could be f*cking with your saves, but it's still annoying as hell.

You can consider creating a mouse profile specifically for the Talon.  For example, I map my four thumb buttons to "1",  "3", "7" and "r" for Cain Mines, AP arrows, medi-gel and reload.

This is done using the mouse software e.g. synapse for Razer mice and Logitech Gaming Software for Logitech mice.

A lot of gaming keyboards allow you to create different profiles as well.

Your fault. You used him, and now he used you. All is fair in love and war.

True, I'm using the Razer Black Widow Ultimate Stealth myself.  The Synapse software is wonky though, gave me no end of grief.  Eventually, I uninstalled Synapse and flashed the keyboard to a pre-Synapse firmware.  Been working perfectly since, sans macros.

Because I wasn't - that's why Iasked.

But I'l try and follow the Vid frank posted - thanks frank - and see if I can do it with that.

Edit: With the help of the Video and the linked guides in the video I was able to do it.

Thank you a lot, Frank. Now I can dominate the Battlefield :)
