I just received CALL OF THE DARK Level 20 Unique maul.  With a Superb rune is exhibits 293 DPS.  The unique ability is listed as: 

 

  Berserk:+20% Damage Bonus,

 +200% Damage From All Sources

 

Does anyone really know what that even means.  My Sundering Rare maul is a 298DPS, so should this fine weapon be 'wished to the cornfield'?  I also recently received a Mhemet's War Hammer Level 19 Unique maul with only 278DPS adding in a Superb rune.  To the salvage yards we go.

 

So much excitement to see a purple card; then the gloom, disappointment, depression, and one more purple to the slag yard for more salvage leather, cloth and metal junk I can't use.

I get that feeling every time I see our coffee machine at work, but always end up with the same disappointing coffee..

I keep Call of the Dark just in case they fix the berserk thing later on.

Thanks for making a case to retain it, albeit your point is based on some dubious bug-fix evidence, counselor.

 

Call of the Dark Level 20 Unique maul - keep for now with the optimism of youth that a fix is just over the rainbow.

Mhemet's War Hammer Level 19 Unique maul  -  to the salvage yard; hope I can salvage more of that rare, rare iron.  I presently have enough iron to produce a M1 Abrams for the soldier boys and girls of Thedas.  Still awaiting the schematics.

Call of the Dark was salvaged in my case, I kept my Mhemet's though. I hardly use even that maul.

I prefer Greatswords/Axes for "Clear a Path" (Stamina restored by 10% per target hit).

Did keep my maul in case there was another maul weekend challenge, to be honest.
