Jill of the Jungle, yeah :D

Jazz Jackrabbit was also great. I think it was even made in my home country, one of the first succesful games ever made there.

*googles*

Yes it was. Wanna know something shocking? One of the two creators later ended up making Gears of War: Cliff Bleszinsky

Lol I just watched that vid for a while. Never knew the sound was THAT crazy. I didn't have soundblasters back then. I was like, I dunno, 6 years old or something and my dad thought soundblasters were a waste.

The bastard.

I had several Mysth's too, but they were way harder imo :/ Took me way too much time to sovle the puzles so I never really finished that one I think

For years I have been trying to find this old PC game that I had on my Windows 98 PC aka 'The old banger'.  It was sort of like a simulation game.  You overlooked, like, a tribe of these gremlin type things.  You could suggest that they do something, but the result would depend on their mood.  IIRC, the gremlin things were green and obviously the cute variety.  I also remember the start of the game told a little backstory about how they had been driven out of their homes or something.  I never got very far because I was just a young'un, but I remember it being a cool as hell game.

OMG that was one of those games I wasted so much time on......  Pity some of it isn't canon . I wish Dark Troopers were in the movies. They were bloody cool...

My only gripe was that the graphics for this didn't live up to the box art.

Well, since I'm still desperately waiting for the console release date of the new game, I have to put this one up:

I got very nostalgic for Journeyman Project 2: Buried in Time. That and the whole Myst Series got me into adventure games as a whole. I looooooved Da Vinci's Workshop, and running through some of the mayan levels were neat. :)

For PC Games, I wax nostalgic over Brain Dead 13, Doom I & II, Diablo, Mechwarrior 2, and Number Munchers.

Strange, I just looked and it came right up.  Browser issue, maybe?

Listing my GOG shelf would take far too long since a lot of the games I've bought were either from nostalgia or ones I never got to play growing up.

But a lot of the ones I spent a bunch of time on as a kid?:

Doom,

Wolfenstein 3D,

King's Quest (5 the most but 6 is the best in the series imho),

Rise of the Triad

Gabriel Knight,

Laura Bow Mysteries (seeing a pattern here? Sierra was a big deal for me),

Jazz Jackrabbit (both)

Jill of the Jungle

Crystal Caves,

Commander Keen (Apogee did a ton of stuff I loved too)

Space Quest 4 (still the best in the series)

Blood,

Blake Stone

God of Thunder

Heretic

Myst

Ahh the list goes on. There are of course things like the Last Express (I adore this game so much) and Fallout 1 and 2 I played a ton of but I also kept hopping around what we'll consider older, or I played them in my teenage or adult years. :P

For anybody interested, there is a lot of old DOS games that somebody is working to preserve you can play in your browser here.

They use an online version of DOSBOX, which admittedly is kind of buggy at times. They do however seemed to have worked to get rid of stupid anti-copying things like the old "Go to line 5 on page 7 of the manual and enter the first letter".

Anything from LucasArts, particularly their adventure titles, before they were taken over by a bunch of howler monkeys, was amazing.

Monkey Island, Day of the Tentacle, Grim Fandango, Sam & Max, Indiana Jones: Fate of Atlantis etc.

I like all your choices...  I always had trouble with the timed events in The Last Express.   Especially near the start where you had to do certain things in a short time.   The graphics were gorgeous though...

Did you ever play a game called "In The 1st Degree" where you are a lawyer solving a murder?
