In some way it bugs me that the Fat Turians™ can do a combat roll from cover to cover - why can't they do it when they aren't in cover?

 

Cover-to-cover roll is a combat manoeuvre officialy sanctioned by the Hierarchy, and appropriately covered in the TEXTBOOKS provided to Turian ground forces. Out-of-cover rolls are not mentioned, and are therefore fit only for lunatics, unacceptably out-of-the-box thinkers, and... gasp... individualists. The first two categories get drafted in the Armiger legion, the third ones get shipped off to the citadel to become spectres... and the less said about them, the better.

Somehow it's much less of a problem for me with Batarians and Krogan than Turians. TSent is especially unbearable.
Vanguards don't need the dodge at all, you might want to start with Batarian / Krogan vanguard.

4ranks in fitness and 4 ranks in armour. Adrenalin 3 and (optional) geth scanner.
Tsent is VERY survivable, and with Turian passives and warp/overload it's a killing machine.
Try with arc pistol+APammo

Salarian win battles by using their short life span brains to more maximum efficiency. So of course some spy stole the Quarian hop from. Just like they decided to steal Krogan babies instead of fighting them one on one.

Last night I had a glitch where my Salarian Infiltrator managed to steal the vanilla Human Soldier's sideways roll, but only the left direction.  He got away before I could steal the roll to the right.
