Which quests are still bugged / potentially un-finishable as of Patch 6?

The other day I ran into a bugged requisition quest - it was "Lore Requisition on the Plains" in the Exalted Plains, where you're asked to gather Orlesian Tomes & Ancient Writings.

No, it wasn't that the Tomes & Writings were no longer available (it's possible to farm them in the Ancient Baths even after the map is cleared), but rather that turning in the requisition simply took my items and "reset" the quest, acting like it was never completed. Apparently this bug has been around for a while, and still hasn't been fixed as of Patch 6: http://answers.ea.co...ug/td-p/4063476

The Exalted Plains is also where I ran into a quest that wasn't bugged, just un-finishable - "Armor Requistion in the Plains", requiring Malachite (which I'd already sold off, and apparently is hard to get as a drop). My new motto: don't accept requisition quests in the Exalted Plains.

So, since there are fellow completionists like myself out there who don't like seeing incomplete quests in their journal, which quests have you found as of Patch 6 to be bugged or potentially un-finishable (e.g. the materials or requirements for it won't appear after a certain point)? It might be useful to know beforehand so I don't end up accepting them by mistake...

I think I only had a problem with some requisitions.

One where I needed ferelden locks in the Hinterland.

Another for coats , I needed snoufleur leather , I had it but it wasn't working.

I found out another type of leather from JOH DLC was working instead.

I've gotten 3 malachites so far as a drop on my current playthrough (still in Haven) but they are rare. Still, if you remember to leave one thing into that chest on a boat behind the Hinterlands dragon, you can farm as much malachite as you want. As a rogue it's easy to sneak past the beast and with a bit of easy jumping you can get to the boat and back without even needing a mage with you.

I noticed an increase in malachite and specialization quest items, probably because they're not spawning often enough.  Does it also seem like the armor requisition and ferelden locks quests are less frequent?

I don't worry about them too much, since there will always be an open requisition if you keep going back for them, and sooner or later, obtaining plaideweave isn't a priority.  And I never, ever sell malachite or ferelden locks.  I eventually get tired of the dwarven loot clogging up my inventory, though.  I wish valuables could go in the chest.

After much mental struggling, I've finally made my peace with my journal. I'm no longer troubled by open requisitions. I even (gasp) left a requisition unfilled despite the fact that I had enough materials to complete it. Hey, lambswool and silk are + Magic Defense cloth! No way am I parting with that until I've got enough everknit and silk brocade to upgrade my gear.

Yeah, in my first-playthrough I didn't know that Malachite would later be a requisition material for the Exalted Plains, so I sold off all the Malachite I'd gathered from the Hinterlands, assuming it was like other gems like Amethyst and Topaz. What also doesn't make sense is that you get the Malachite requisition in the Plains, but apparently it doesn't drop anywhere on that map - so why offer it as a quest there in the first place? So that one unfortunately stayed in my journal.

I also had the same issue with Ferelden Locks, but at the time there was an exploit to duplicate items in your valuables category, so I used that to create some more (for some reason Malachite couldn't be duplicated though). But the exploit was removed in Patch 3.

What annoys me about the Lore requisition quest is that because I learned my lesson, I'm usually conscientious about only accepting a limited number of requisitions (3-5 per area), and reloading if I get one I don't think I'll be able to fill. And I did get enough materials to fill the Lore requisition, it's just that it turned out to be bugged anyway.

Honestly, I think the seeds for that plant were removed on purpose, but it just didn't get pulled from the menu and journal in time.

I don't think deathroot would even fit in the pots (probably the same reason why there aren't crystal grace seeds).

Just so you're aware, there's a similar requisition in the Emerald Graves (one that also takes ancient writings) which is also broken.

I think that one may get removed from the journal (you actually get power from it, and you lose the requisition), but you won't be able to acquire any new requisitions.

Thanks for the heads-up on that Emerald Graves quest - I was suspicious of yet another quest featuring Ancient Tomes so I didn't accept it, and it's good to know I dodged (yet another) bullet.

For me The Way of the Assassin is still bugged.  I can't get the 3rd token.  I've cleared Crestwood, killed the White Claw leader, killed the Carta leader in the Hinterlands... Nothing.  I got the one by the cabin on the water, in Old Crestwood, killed some dudes at the quarry but I think that was before I got the quest?  Either way I'm stuck at 2 and have been trying for probably 10+ hours.  Somebody... BioWare... please help.

I don't know much about this bug because I think I got the assassin tokens in my game, but according to this thread it's maybe possible to farm one from the Carta guy in Valammar if you save / reload at that location (will take multiple tries, though)?

But yeah it seems the users in that thread are saying the bug is still around. That must be incredibly frustrating.

I've seen that and tried it.  That guy isn't standing there for me though unfortunately.

Worst part is, the newest save I have that doesn't have 2/3 tokens on it is from like 30 hours of gameplay ago, before I chose mages or templars and went to Skyhold

EDIT: I finally went through enough old saves to where I found one with the Carta guy in Valammar.  Two tries and I got... Downside is I had to erase so many hours of gameplay I have to completely redo Western Approach and then some.  And just to pour salt in my wounds, just walking around Western Approach I was attack by White Claws and one of them dropped another Assassin Weapon so I had 4 by the time I crafted the weapon... So stupid.

For me it's the Crestwood main quest, and the other quest that needs you to enter the Flooded Caves. I can't get the Flooded Caves to load properly, the entire cave is bugged. I also have immense issues with areas with large water masses, namely the Storm Coast and the Frostback Basin, resulting also in being unable to progress in those areas, even if not directly related to a specific quest. The Iron Bull conversations are a lagging disaster, if not for youtube I wouldn't know how they were supposed to look like. Funnily enough, all that on a brand new Xbox One. I wish I could get someone to answer me somewhere, but all I get is the silent treatment...

I made peace with it a while back. I began to realise that the requisitions are endless, and, no matter how many times I hand one in, there's always another. More to the point, they were constantly eating up the materials I needed for crafting. Enough was enough, I drew the line and ignored any already in my inventory and picked up no more. I don't need them for the points, as  can get all the points I need from closing rifts and undertaking quests... therefore I see no real reason to do them.

I just wish the woman at the camp wouldn't keep on constantly yelling after me, and spamming me with requests every time I walk past her.

"Inquisitor...."

No... no.. I'm not giving you any more of my stuff...

"Inquisitor, this might interest you"!

Nooooooooo.... just stop it, OK? nag, nag nag! enough already!

"Inquisitor....."

aaaaGHHHHH

I just worry that one day she's going to wear me down.

The spirit in Crestwood that demands you kill the rage demon in the cave still bugs out and won't start a conversation until you leave the area and return. And if you're unlucky and a deepstalker attacks you anywhere near the spirit you have to leave and come back again.

During the templar quest and during the ball in the Winter Palace the doors glitch out and instead of sending you where you want to go try to send you into the area you're already in, resulting in massive 4-5 minute loading screens.

Those doors.  They are the worst. I have to make sure I stop completely and angle my inquisitor just so or else it will switch out and I'll be stuck in load screen hell.

My mother plays and she cannot judge anyone - crashes her game.  My brother also cannot judge anyone.  The funny thing is we are all on PS4s and I do not have the issue - I judge my prisoners just fine. Their PS4s are almost a year older than mine, but they are up to date on PS4 software and patches.   I'm not convinced that this issue is a DAI issue though.

Well so far these I feel bugged for the XBOX 360 and I'll mention why:

"Apostate mages to the north" - In the Hinderlands I killed the mage boss and the mission glitched. After doing the mission a second time i got two of the same staffs and finally confirmed.

"TROUBLE WITH DARKSPAWN" - Darkspawn cave must be sealed before finishing dungeon. All enemies before or after defeating Servius. If unable to find all and kill all mission is glitched. If darkspawn hole is not sealed and Servius and goons are killed mission will glitch. If Servius's judgement will not be taken care of like NOW the game will freeze (freeze times taken place while trying to talk to anyone in Skyhold=5).

"Liliana's  asistant find books mission" - character was nowhere to be found.

"Sutherland's missions" - After I finished Sutherland's "TEST OF METTLE AND STEEL" WAR TABLE mission I couldn't get any more of his quests.

"Keeping/not keeping Cole at first arrival in Skyhold" - If I do not talk to Cullen first then Cole the game will freeze if I talk to Cole first, keep him, then talk to Cullen.

"Missing ring" - I for some reason have to talk to the woman twice to give her back the ring in Du Lion.

"Maryden's mission" - Even after I completed her mission and had the confirmation she was still marked with a diamond.

"Champions of the Just" - The eastern door teleported me to the western door and not to the Great Hall like it was suppose to.

I guess all I can ask is this: Did you take the fort then work your way to open the dam then try reaching where I think your trying to reach?

All i know is when you first reach Crestwood you need head to the New Crestwood town, talk to the mayor and get a in general idea of what to do next. Afterward you need to hit a fort and kill everyone in it. Once you post the flag and claim the keep their is a route you would need to take to reach the dam to open the dam (your character will mention "this should take us to the dam" or something). Once you reach the dam you meet a couple, after the couple thing head out and a different door and you should find a giant wheel. activate the wheel to open the dam. The rest of the Crestwood map should be availible to you including such caves like this I believe.

I am unsure if this would help. I own the XBOX 360 version and have no serious issues with Crestwood. I have issues with other maps though.

I've done this area before with an xbox 360. It didn't freeze. The xbox one does. Go figure. Believe me when I tell you it's nothing on my end, unless it's a bad disc. The fault it reproducible every single time, in very specific areas and situations.
