I was meaning in visuals. It looks good, but if they want to touch it up I say why not.

I guess I just don't see the necessity in moves like this. "Touch up" being the key phrase here. We're not dealing with "ancient" PlayStation 2, GameCube, or Xbox games. This entire generation so far has been mostly "touch ups".

That's what it's going to be like from here on out methinks. The leaps in graphic quality isn't going to be as monumental for quite some time. So any enhanced edition games will just be touch ups.

But I'm not gonna buy it. It's a rip off, the games look fine still  :wizard:

I wonder do we actually have any reliable evidence that suggests Bethesda will be announcing Fallout 4 or a new Elder Scrolls game other that for some reason Bethesda is hosting their first E3 conference? How disappointed would you be if they don't announce either? What if they are just hosting a conference because they feel they are a big enough publisher now and want to show off the games their other studios have been working on with their big announcement being Skyrim HD re-master (because with trends in gaming as they are we sure as **** know that one is comming)?

Yeah why not, if people want to waste their money and support such shameless money grubbing practices that is their business, personally I feel it is a little excessive, the graphical jump from last gen to current gen has not been a big one so the minor upgrades they make to the visuals and frame rate don't really warrant a HD re-release, especially since most of the games being re-released are still probably being sold on store shelves for last gen consoles and you can bet your arse you will find more than a few used copies at your local Gamestop.

That's because last gen is holding current gen back. Look at the Order, it's graphics are amazing, while Destiny you can tell it's been held back by the xbox 360 and PS3.

Meh.  Games are getting pretty "samey" so its hard to be excited anymore.  If its an eastern game, it'll be a sequel or some motion control gimmick.  If its western, it'll be some gritty shooter.

I just found out I can play old NES/SNES/Genesis/PS1 games online, so I'm pretty much booked lol.

Older games are so much better than most new ones.

This last generation I liked the "Dynamic" games like Asura's Wrath, Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm, Murdered Soul Suspect, Ninja Blade, Onechanbara Bikini Samurai Squad, Remember Me, etc, etc.

but like...last few years I looked at e3? "Pass...pass...pass...meh...pass...gimmick...sequel...pass..pass...pass"

Honestly I'm more irritated that they won't export those cool Digimon games for the PSP and Vita, instead only giving me the crappy Smash Bros knockoff.

Oh don't even pull that nonsense.  The issue is they just aren't making any games for the next gen consoles.  Its all ports of current gen (360 and ps3 are still current gen until Xbone and PS4 get a freaking library, in my book.) games with like...5 or 6 real next gen games.

I like both Series, but not enough to get Super-Hype over them for E3.

Besides RB4/P5, Something that isn't a direct sequel or reboot is always novel amongst the dewrito cultist ceremony.

"Holding back" deez nuts. People need to chill being so hung up on polygon counts or resolution somehow making their gaming experiences. This could've released strictly on next gen and you'd be playing the same BS you are now. Stop it.

Well, it isn't the case of poloygon counts or resolution, it's the fact that for some games, like Halo MCC, could have not been made for the 360, and if I recall, which I may be wrong, that someone from Bungie said that Destiny would have been much bigger if it wasn't for the current gen.

Regardless, it's more about the game than what system it is on above all else. A system cannot decide if a game is good or bad.

Every single game in that collection released on previous consoles. It's not pushing boundaries because it's on Xbox One. That blu ray disc is though.

That's just not a defining feature of "next generation experiences" for me. Developers need to push their game design forward, not the frame rate. Not saying I'd be happy with a game that played at 10 FPS. I'm looking for something that's functional. Anything beyond is a bonus.

I agree with this. People focus on graphics, but what about four times the memory? CDPR said this is why they are doing TW3 as next gen only, so they could design cities and towns with hundreds of NPCs all interacting and moving at once. Instead of DA:I's "everyone stands still across the entire planet" method that is a direct limitation of old gen technology. It just can't handle that many moving pieces.

To me, the hardware is there to make a huge leap in terms of actual gameplay and experience, but no one is doing it, because they want to design games for previous gen as well, then only give the next gen versions a graphical shot in the arm, instead of actually pushing the boundaries of how they make their games.

Maybe E3 will have some evidence that this is happening. We shall see.

I agree.

They need to bring some fresh ideas to the table, push bounds and take the next gen consoles and push them. Make new experiences that are unique, fun and lasting instead of trying to copy each other.  Take the new hardware and make better games.

hard to disagree with that observation however AAA publishers seem to treat new ideas like the plague, safest option is to just to copy what is simplistic and popular and bling up the graphics then complain when the game doesn't sell enough copies.

That's exactly why people are so high on the indie market or the niche developer. Because they don't mind making something outside the mainstream box that will probably not have that mass market appeal and success,

It would be terrible if DOOM got a gameplay reveal at E3 and Fallout 4 only gets a CGI trailer. Really hoping Bethesda isn't that stupid.

I could never accept the evolution of this franchise to a totally scary game from Doom II to III. I don't know anymore...

They're doing what they've done for a long time (vs PC). They just continue to do the same, typical, crippled console games the XB360 and PS3 were designed for.

I don't think that there's ever been anything that has hurt gaming as much as the XB360, PS3 -generation consoles. A decade wasted.

The consoles themselves had little to do with this, but more to do with how similar their structures were. They were both able to run the same caliber games at the same level (despite what fanboys of either system might say), which made the temptation to make games for both systems very appealing, much more so than other console generations.

Which both made console games much more crucial for developers, as well as make PC-only gaming exceptionally less appealing. Which meant PC games were increasingly part of the console release model, which utilized nearly none of the platform's strengths.

The XB1 and PS4 are the exact same - Microsoft backed off the attempts to make its console unique and the two machines are virtually identical for all intents and purposes. However, the dilution is now even greater as developers continue to make games for old gen and next gen, despite it being close to 18 months after release.

Has Bethesda even hinted they would reveal Fallout 4 on this E3 or are we working with conjectures and fishy internet rumors?
