2014 Strategy and shooters games were meh. AAA RPGs too.

Even though Soul Cal takes place like 100 years after Ezio dies.

 

And I'm sure Kratos was ok in the PSP game. But unfortunately my blind hatred for Captain Angry Hopeful Revenge Pants will prevent me from checking it out.

Link is basically my main.

Because like Smash, he covers so much range it's great.

But he's only in Soul Cal 2. So I have to settle for Siegfried and Kilik/Xiba.

Maybe Sophitia and Raphael/Amy. Depends on the mood I'm in.

I like SoulCalibur IV the most. I hate how they skimped on the story in V and did a time skip for no real reason.

At the time, the Persians were adept in fielding light shock cavalry and archers. Standard Persian practice would be fielding lots of levies in the middle and pound the enemy with charges and arrows. Aside from the Immortals and Greek mercs, their infantry line was pretty much crap. It got better under the Sassanids.

 

The Spartans were pretty inflexible as a fighting force. Heck, that describes the Greek Phalanx in general before Sarissas were normalized. It just so happened that the Achaemenid Persians were silly enough to use their usual tactics in a land of mountains.
