sorry if this is in the wrong category, i wasn't sure if it was a technical error or if i'm just being impatient haha.  i've been playing my most recent playthrough for over a week now and just hit level nineteen, have been bringing iron bull and dorian with me pretty much everywhere i go and there hasn't been a single bit of flirtatious banter between them!  i haven't flirted with either of them and have a high relationship with both of them, but they're not saying a word to each other (but have plenty to say to the third party member) and there's no option to talk to them about it.  is it just not meant to be in this playthrough, or should i keep doing loops around the hinterlands hoping they'll talk to each other?

Have you locked into a romance yourself?  It's possible that while the Inquisitor still has the option to engage in a romance with either of them the banters wont fire.

i'm locked in a romance with cullen and have only flirted with him from the beginning (my inquisitor's a one-man kind of gal haha.)

will the chances of dialogue between bull and dorian increase if i don't bring a third party member?  i tried this a while ago and the silence was deafening.

Banters can often be very tricky to fire.  If you've got time on your hands make a party of Bull and Dorian, go a map and just stand in one place for 15 minutes (away from any spawn points for enemies and the Requisition Officer for the best results).  After 15 to 20 minutes you should get a banter or location comment from one of them, and after that banter will fire every 15-20 minutes, even when you're running around the map killing stuff and finding elfroot (I hope).  BW really need to bring back banter trigger points in addition to the timed banter in the next game.

 

I've only ever had one of their flirt banters trigger.  I hope you'll have better luck.

thanks so much!  i'll definitely try this tomorrow when i have some time to kill in the meantime, any other suggestions, folks?

Another option is also learning how to use party banter trigger with cheat engine (that's how I finally got it)

You're welcome. Also, just to make sure, I hope you realize you also need to get the program called cheat engine. You can find it with a quick google search.

That's probably going to be a more reliable method than what I suggested.  Have fun with the banters.

You might have party banter bug too, I think I have it at least.

I'm pretty sure their romance banter is the last banter set that triggers for them. I had finished every single thing in the game, and I still had to intentionally keep the game running to eventually get the starting romance banter.

i don't think so - i get regular banter most of the time, and they do talk to each other occasionally, they just never flirt and are far more likely to talk to the other party member.

that could very well be the case too haha, i have a feeling i'll be doing a lot of running around if the mods don't work.

welp, this is embarrassing.  i watched the tutorial for the cheat engine and it all went way over my head, and even though i followed the instructions the script didn't show up.  i'm probably just too dense for it, might as well stick to my current method of dragging them along everywhere with me!  thanks for all your help, though.

Woa wait you want to these two to be together???Hell no!!!Only reason why I even bothered with flirting with one of them and getting involved at all is to make sure that does not happen.

Maybe you should keep your personal opinions to yourself instead of trying to spread vitrol when someone is asking for help.

 

On topic, I seemed to have the best luck dragging compaions around Crestwood or Exalted Plains to get them to trigger banter. Not sure if the map makes a difference or not, but hopefully that helps if cheat engine is failing ya.

My Inquisitor is locked in a romance with Dorian and when I have him and Iron Bull in the party they still flirt    I had the 'staff polishing' and the 'I'd buy you dinner first' conversation and everytime I imagine my Inquisitor is like "I'M STANDING RIGHT HERE I CAN HEAR YOU"

These guys took forever to flirt. My usual setup was Dorian/Bull/Cassandra.

 

At one point I just stood around camp and waited for someone to start talking. I had problems with banter in general.

Storm Coast is my best location to get banter (generally get it every 15-20 minutes there).

the script isn't working for banter since patch 6 was released, and has yet to be fixed. Lots of things will get broke again when patch 7 releases also.

I once got the banter right before the last mission, when I had nothing else to do anymore. And I had been walking around with Dorian and Bull throughout the whole game. Banter firing is not ideal at the moment.
