Remember how in ME1 you could simply crouch any time you want? And it was removed in ME2 and didn't return in ME3? Why is that?

I mean, it would be so useful. Instead of going into hard cover near some counter, you could crouch to avoid fire, you could duck to avoid missiles and stuff like that. Not to mention, it could be a mechanic to improve stability and accuracy on all kits.

Is it because the lack of console controller buttons? What gives?

Crouching would have added strategy to the game.

Which would take away from spawn nuking, Cain mine spamming, running up to things with the Reegar, and so on.

Can't have that.

Having played them in the order 2,3,1, due to PS3, it's possible I never ever crouched when playing ME1 at all.  :o

I'm sure the mighty omnibutton could cope with another function or two, so it can't be down to that.  ;)

What's more is that in both ME2 and ME3 your teammates in SP can and do crouch. So animations are there and they make use of them.

Do you really have something against my "A" button?

A to run.

A to dodge.

A to interact with objects.

A to drink water.

A to have sex with teammates.

Now you want A to dodge as well?

Just play Volus Merc with stability help only from now on instead.

Lulz. I would if the Volus carried that box he's standing on to shoot over cover when needed.

It's the most glaringly obvious missing feature in the game. No multiplayer game where you control a humanoid is complete without crouching.

Crouching would have added strategy to the game.

I agree, especially psychological warfare

Screw crouching, dancing is where it's at.

I think every Turian should have a dodge:

You can't crouch because of the huge magnets in our knees used for sticky cover.

Crouching would be cool.

But first, I'd prefer a simple dodge for every character, just enough to get out of sync kill range in tricky situations.

Crouching and proning mechanic in games is useful but they also slow the pace of game and jumping mechanic in games has the exact opposite effect, they tend to speed up the game pace even further. Mass Effect 2 & 3 gameplay is more faster paced and flows better than Mass Effect 1 gameplay.

You read my mind!!

You can still do it while rezzing someone by repeatedly cancelling the revive animation though...

I would have liked to crouch in ME3. There are enough buttons on controllers (L3 or R3 could have been used on the PS3 controller), so I don't think it was the reason.
