For people that invert their controllers this is what await's you in Hell..........

It was preset that way in my first shooter games. Duke 3D, Quake and ROT. And it stuck. With non-inverted mouse i get dizzy in seconds.
It just depends on what you are used to. If someone has been playing with standard controls all their life they will probably stick with standard controls, and if someone has gotten used to using inverted controls they will most likely want to use inverted controls. Neither is inherently superior it is all personal preference.
i invert
I'm totally introverted.
Oh wait...
Maybe if I was playing a flight simulator, otherwise, normal. Up should be up, etc. Do you guys invert your Y-axis on your computer mouse just for navigating the screen (i.e. just looking at the forums etc.)? I find that so awkward, but I understand how some people can find it normal.
Yup, I do it. It all started with James Bond on N64. lol my buddy made me do it for some reason when I started playing, never turned back.
I can't stand being inverted unless playing a flight simulator game like Fury.
In which case I can't stand *not* being inverted.
I don't poke my nose with my fingers - I do it with my toes! GOML!
Didn't you retire from BSN?
I retired from 360 & BSN. Yes. But maybe PS3 account might bring me back to BSN to stay a little longer? ... Maybe...
The Y-axis debate is up there with whether the toilet paper should come off the roll from the top or the bottom; i.e., who ****** cares? Do whatever makes it easier for you.
I care. It always has to come off the top. Otherwise you risk having it un-roll too much. And less effort is required if it comes off the top.
Can't stand un-efficiency and how un-efficient folks tendancy tends to be. Folks should be closer attention to everything they do in life, no matter how small.
Also, I always find that people that Invert their controls are especially strange people in real-life...My uncle does that in every game he plays..I personally hate it..Unless its a Flight / Jet Fighter game..thats the only exception for me ...WTF...Up is Down and Down Is Up? I want to look left why is the screen turning to the right?
Only for up and down, you seashell.
That's what the Y-Axis is. The left and right is X-Axis, which should never change. So don't ask me why ME3mp also has X-Axis invertation and who the weirdo's that use it are.

So I guess if you're an old gamer, you naturally invert. And if your a new gamer, you naturally a hipster with diaper on you head. All makes much more sense to me.

Inverted still feels more natural/normal.

Why not use a setup that works for both flight simulators and other genres? As in, why torture you mind on having to go back and forth when going back and forth between genres?

I care. It always has to come off the top. Otherwise you risk having it un-roll too much. And less effort is required if it comes off the top.
Exactly. The only legitimate justification I've ever heard for having it come off the back is that if it comes off the front, some cats will play with it and run all the TP off the roll. If it comes off the back, then the cat will just spin the roll and nothing will happen. So... I guess if you have an a-hole cat, then rear-wind is OK. Every other person should be using the correct setup.

I used to do this when I was younger. It made MUCH more sense to me. Imagine holding a shotgun, to aim up you'd move your right hand down. Or a sniper, or just about any gun but a pistol.
But, then I didn't play shooters for ages and it suddenly didn't feel right anymore. I don't know which game it was that made me switch... wish I did.
Uhm... nope. To aim an actual gun you use your left hand to aim it up or down. Your right hand is holding it steady, with the stock against your shoulder. Anything else is shooting from the hip and you don't really aim if you do that. ![]()
