Amazing, just would play this every time the issue comes up, but it's not about reason or logic, it's just about attention and bombast it's all ****.
Although that doesn't mean I'm against having more female protagonists necessarily, it's just dumb to suggest it hasn't been done before or whatever.

So allow me to shut this thread down with a decent argument.
Oh honey I don't think you are capable of a decent argument, I mean that would require you to actually read and understand what the thread is about which you are clearly incapable of, to be honest I am not sure you even understand the Zelda timeline or the nature of protagonists featured throughout the series, do you even care about the Zelda series or are you merely trying to turn it into the Vietnam of gender politics?
But that being said I think the thread has run it's course (though it has nothing to do with your "well reasoned arguments") with the majority not wanting a female incarnation of the hero, which is fine, if you do not want to play a female character you are entitled to that opinion, I never said that all games should conform to my preferences, I merely said that I liked the female Link concepts drawn up by the people who were actually working on a game within the Zelda universe and that I support the idea of the protagonist in a new Zelda game being female (and not because I want to neuter every male protagonist but because I genuinely liked the concept). What I don't appreciate is yall trying to turn this into a SJW issue claiming that the only reason to do this would be appeasement and some other political correctness bullshit, just because the developers want a female lead in a new game or include a gay character does not automatically make it "pandering" or "appeasement" and to try to stand against it on those grounds makes you just as bad as the feminists that claim that any game that features a male protagonist is sexist.
BTW Female Kratos is a horrible idea and I do not support the arbitrary gender swapping of already established characters (the Kratos thread was meant as joke making fun of all the paranoid delusionals in this thread), but odds are you aren't going to read this post anyway so keep whining about SJWs or whatever floats your boat

Really? Because that's what you've been arguing for in this thread the entire time.
You're not allowed to say one thing and then turn around and go "no, I don't support this!".
Well, no, you're *allowed* to say that, you can say whatever you want strictly speaking, but you make yourself look like a hypocritical idiot and nobody will take you seriously.
When your biggest push for a female Link is "I think it would be interesting" while at the same time saying "I'm against arbitrary gender-swapping", you've just given away any credence you may have had. "I think it would be interesting" is as arbitrary as it gets. It's just a more polite way to say "because I want it like that".

Oh honey you have no idea what you are talking about do you? I honestly wish people would take the time to actually read and gain an understanding of what the thread is about before posting and making yourself look like a shallow minded fool but if you still haven't done it after 13 pages I don't expect you are capable of doing it now.
If that is honestly what you think this thread is about then surely you would have no trouble finding a quote from me in this thread saying that we should take an existing male character and sprinkle fairy dust on him to make him female? I mean surely you wouldn't resort to such low tactics as posting strawmen would you dear?

You keep saying "oh honey" to people in a really condescending manner, like you're somehow more mature or smarter than anyone else here, like you're a parent talking to their child.
And I did read the last 13 pages. I've responded to this thread several times before now, in case you've forgotten (because I know that we misogynistic rape apologists all sound the same).
In cast it hasn't been made evident enough, I'm not gracing your nonsense with an actual response because of the strawman you just put up (one should not expect a genuine reply when they don't give one themselves). I didn't say anything about taking a male character and "sprinkling fairy dust on him" to make him female, I was talking about the hypocrisy in your own statements. and how you contradict yourself.

You make the claim though you have yet to prove it, the part about where you have responded to the thread is beyond doubt but this only shows that you have no problem spouting ill-informed opinions on subjects you don't have the slightest clue about.

I think a female Link or hero of time could work and to be honest the idea just appeals more to me than the usual male protagonist.

Posté 30 avril 2015 - 10:31
Link does not refer to just one character in the Zelda series, every new Zelda game that isn't a direct sequel features a new incarnation of the hero of time and there is nothing that says that it is impossible for one of them to be born female, try again sweetie.

I think most of us fall into the J.D.G.A.F group but i wouldnt mind a choice like in pokémon.
but that being said if thay did that be prepaired for 10 years of how it was a MAJOR victory for the Gender studies program.
