I don't mind, and I have to admit that pic of female Link is cute, but why not a new IP with a female lead?

Well Hyrule warriors did release concept art depicting a female version of Link so I am sure the idea has been considered as something they would like to do, and not me stomping my feet and demanding they cater to my preferences over their own.
Yeah I'm just saying the "gamers aren't ready" thing is kinda silly IMO.
Not sure I am allowed to post scans of the Hyrule warriors art book, but it has a few different concepts for female Link
I found some pictures from HW on the internet somewhere

Nothing saying that they can't create a new IP with a female lead but then again is there no room for variation in an already existing franchise?

I voted for the last one just so I could have a laugh. Although I'd still say no. If they want to make a game with a female protagonist set in the LoZ world then make Zelda the main character.

Sure, I'd love to see an alternate-reality Zelda game but I would prefer if Nintendo created some new franchises rather than continuously exploit the usual suspects.

Sure and while we're at let's make Samus as a male as well.

Why not just play as Zelda? Or introduce a new character?
No, wait, those would be too sensible.

Never played zelda, so I don't have much of a preference for the matter.

Or introduce a new character?
They do that with every new Zelda game that isn't a direct sequel, the Link in Twighlight Princess isn't the same one that saved the world in Ocarina of Time, the Link in Skyward Sword does not go on to sail the oceans in Windwaker, each new Link is a descendant or re-incarnation of the previous Link, why is it impossible for one to be female?

For the same reason Spider-Man is Peter Parker and not Petra Parker. He has, in literally every single instance of his entire existence, been a male. Changing Link to a woman for no reason is arbitrary and meaningless, done for no reason other than to garner brownie points from the Tumblr crowd. The same thing with Marvel and FemThor.

Lets be honest here, everyone who votes for any of the last 3 options is a misogynistic shitlord, the person who voted 5 is merely being honest about it.
Wait, even the middle option?
I can't be indifferent about the whole affair without being an *******?
That's a rather closed off way of looking at things.

Well yeah if a woman took up the mantle of Spider-Man the moniker wouldn't exactly be accurate anymore now would it? That said Peter Parker hasn't been the only one to take up the mantle of Spider-Man

And there is also a Spider-Woman

So I am not sure what your point is?

I want to play the weird dude, tinkle whatever his name is. Only play one Zelda game, Mask of something for like 10 minutes.

You know full-well what I meant. Miles Morales as Spider-Man is not mainstream Spider-Man. He is the Ultimate universe version of Spider-Man, in an entirely different continuity. Likewise, Spider-Woman is not Spider-Man, she is Spider-Woman. She and Peter Parker coexist. Spider-Woman and Spider-Man are separate entities who acknowledge each other's existence. If the hypothetical female Link were an alternate-universe Link a la Miles Morales or otherwise separate from "normal" Link a la Spider-Woman (AKA, a new character like I had already said), nobody would care. Taking the established Link and transforming him into a woman would not be done for any tangible reaosn other than to placate the Tumblr crowd.

So did she actually imply Jessica Drew is just a distaff counterpart of Peter Parker?
Because, aside from the names, they don't have much to do with each other.
Aside from being apart of the same Avengers team at one point or another.
And being connected to the Spider-Totem.
But so is Silk and Miguel O' Hara (And an infinite amount of other spider-people) so it's not that much of an accomplishment
And don't bring up Rule 63 Jessica Peter from the Ultimate universe.
You posted 616. So that's what I'm gonna talk about.

Because then they wouldn't be "Link". Miles Morales is still Miles Morales. "Spider-Man" isn't his real name, while "Link" actually IS Link's name. You're putting forward the same non-logic that Marvel did when they introduced woman Thor, that "Thor" is a title and that "Thor's" real name is just "Odinson", despite it being established for half a century prior that his real, actual name is Thor.
A female Link literally would not be Link, because Link is a male. Spider-Woman is not a female Spider-Man, and Miles Morales Spider-Man is not Peter Parker Spider-Man.
And "Hero of Time" doesn't refer to every version of Link like you seem to be implying. "Hero of Time" only applies to the version of Link that appears in the Ocarina trilogy (OoT, Majora's Mask, and Twilight Princess). Although in Twilight Princess, the Hero of Time isn't the playable Link (who is a descendant of Ocarina/Majora's Mask Link), but rather the Hero's Shade Link that teaches player-Link the Hidden Skills.

I have a collection of women that rotate who makes me a sammich. Only because I don't feel like cutting my gaming and sleeping hours.
Their job is to make me something worth while as I'm achievement hunting or dreaming about exotic car asses.
