Not sure if this is the right palce to post this, but was thinking about how I might have story boarded ME3 and since the Trilogy is now caput, it really seems like it will frever be fiction, so ...
Myself I would have done things a bit differently. Keeping (sort of) to the current (i.e. including all DLC's) game and assets ...
The crucible is revealed as a powerful weapon/amplifier/ on Mars, just the same, with the one unknown being the Catalyst.
Palaven plays out pretty much as before.
Tuchanka plays out pretty much as before You make the same choices on Tuchanka as before
You are told to go to Thessia by the Asari Councilor if you saved her in ME2. Or Liara (after reading her mother notes) if you didn't.
The Citadel is revealed as the catalyst by the Prothean VI on Thessia..
The Prothean VI also tells you that they discovered that the Crucible could not differentiate between most forms of Synthetic "life" and Reapers
So "goodbye Reapers" also equals goodbye Geth and possibly any other entity that happens to have any sort of Synthetic Implants.
Tough choice, but ... meh, you'll take the chance and live with it ... but that includes EDI ... hmmm ... and also you Shep don't forget ... Oh wait ... what?!?!?
There is no coup attempt on the Citadel by Cerberus (pointless piece crap anyway) And no Kai Lame either!!!
You tell the Council the nature of the Catalyst, and they order an evacuation of the Citadel in preparation. (so the 5million+ inhabitants joint get pureed or something when it goes off)
You plan to plug the Crucible into the Citadel when it's finished and blow the Reapers to kingdom come.
Aria offers you the Terminus Mercenary deal in exchange for helping her retake Omega from Dr. Henry Lawson. ( who TF was that comic book cliche general anyway? Maybe related to that other useless add-on character Kai Lame perhaps?)
You decide whether your morals can stand working with "outlaws" and "bandits" to acquire the war assets, same as before.
If you agree - Aria, having "warmed" to Shepard during their time together, offers you a luxury apartment on Omega as thanks for helping her. (plus maybe some other perks? hint hint, Maybe a slight amendment to Aria's one and only rule? wink, wink)
Oh yeah ... plus the Terminus Fleets and the Eezo.
Dr. Henry Lawson escapes.
If you refuse - You will not get the apartment at this time. But you will get some extra funding from the Council and some of the more civilized races of the Galaxy for not having dealings with those scoundrels and riff raff.
Dr. Henry Lawson still escapes however. but Aria eventually takes back Omega by herself, so you don't get the Terminus Fleet and you don't get her help, and you don't get any of her fine blue a_ ... erm, anyway ...
You meet with the Quarians, but they claim they cannot help, because they need somewhere for their non-combatants to be safe
The Quarian "war-mongers" make a preemptive strike against the Geth to retake the homeworld. because that it is the best place to use as a safe haven.
The Geth have been upgraded however through an extrapolation of the Reaper Code in the Reaper based virus that Legion used in ME2.
After the initial "deaths" from the Quarian strike, the Geth begin to fight back
Part of the Geth Consensus determines that the only way to stop the Quarians is to "scare" them or make them back off.
Geth Units are being deployed from a base on Rannoch to "punish" the Quarians.
Legion and the "peaceful" members of the consensus wish to find a Diplomatic solution.
An all out war is now taking place:
Legion, and the part of the consensus that would prefer Diplomacy over War, offer to help you stop them.
Tali and the Civilian Admirals from the Quarian Fleet also wish to help you negotiate a cease fire.
You are asked by the Quarian Military Fleet to "take out" a Geth Dreadnought, thus reducing the Geth's Military Strength considerably..
Slightly different decisions -
The "Warrior" Geth offer their extremely powerful Martial Units (warriors/fighters/dreadnoughts) to help you, if you don't destroy the base on Rannoch, and don't destroy the Dreadnought.
But ... you lose the "peaceful" Geth Units and the Quarian Fleets. (perhaps ... for now) And the Geth will take over Rannoch.
The Peaceful Geth offer their help if you don't destroy, but actually enter, the Base and do the Anti-Virus thing. You will gain the assistance in Engineering/technical assets for the Crucible and you also gain the Quarian Civilian Fleets for support/transport,
BUT ... you lose the bulk of the Geth Martial Units and the Quarian Military Fleets who are now fighting a war of M.A.D. in space above of Rannoch. (perhaps ... for now) And the Peace loving Quarians and Geth will take over Rannoch jointly.
However ... Dun dun dahhhhh ...
A Reaper attacks Rannoch in order to try and stop any chance of any sort of coalition from forming.
Now it comes to the previous and current games decisions having an effect.
If you have enough influence over the remaining "Warrior" Geth = you chose re-write instead of destroy with the virus in ME2.
If you have enough influence with the Quarian Military fleets = you chose to destroy the Dreadnought.
If you have enough influence of the Quarian Civilian Fleets and Peaceful Geth = you destroyed/anti-virused the Geth base.
You can call for a cease fire, and convince all (or all remaining) parties to combine in an all out attack on the Reaper. The result is the potential for the Geth and the Quarians agreeing to peaceful co-existence on Rannoch, and offering you the help of ALL the Geth and Quarian War Assets.
You receive a mysterious message asking you to come to Omega and meet in a luxury apartment in one of the residential sections. (Or your apartment if you helped Aria take back Omega.)
It turns out to be Cloneshep and things play out pretty much the same as the Citadel DLC, except you fight him on Omega instead of the Citadel Archives.
You take over his apartment (or move back into your apartment) After kicking him off the Normandy. (and cleanup all those empty bottles and delete all those video files that he downloaded from dubious sites on the Extranet.)
You discover that Dr. Henry Lawson is now on Horizon
You find Horizon in the same state as before and discover that Henry Lawson has found a way to control Indoctrinated creatures and perhaps even the Reapers.
You kill Henry Lawson (freeing Ori/Miri yada, yada)
You get one of those visits from Holo-TIM. Telling you that he can in fact control the Reapers using the Crucible.
You do the usual and call him names, whilst EDI secretly tracks his location.
But you secretly think ... ORLY ... hmmm ... In_ truss_ting. Control the Reapers heh?
When you get to Cronos Station, you fight your way through, and kill TIM ...'Coz he's a bad man remember?
You then discover, because you sit in TIM's chair and Harbinger suddenly appears on the screen, that TIM was actually Indoctrinated.
(and no Kai Lame either)
It seems the Reapers have discovered his info about the Crucible. Dun dun dah!!!
Harbinger tells you what a useless failure you are, and that they have moved the Citadel to the Sol System, so you can't use it.
You tell Hackett about the Citadel being moved, and he says ... to hell with it, we'll attack anyway, and make stuff go boom!
Thus begins the Chicken Run oh, erm, .. the Cannonball Run... I mean the Beam Run ...
Except It's not a beam!
No the Reapers haven't suddenly, and at the very end of the game, discovered Star Trek and leaned the phrase "Beam me up Scotty"
It's actually a Space Elevator. Similar in design to "The Shroud" on Tuchanka ... except taller.
The Reapers built it and connected it to the Citadel so as to "speed up" the Harvesting process.
The Citadel you see, amongst it's other uses, is a very advanced "factory" for creating Reapers. And the Reapers is scared of Shep after all, so they are in a hurry.
After the horde mode stuff as usual and the tearful goodbye's
You come to your first choice:
Destroy the base station for the Elevator. This will send a shockwave that will trigger the Crucible, and, amplified by the Citadel, take out the Reapers and the Synthetics
Or
Take the elevator one floor up to the Citadel and take control of the Reapers (good time for one last Tali vs Garrus elevator scene? no, no no ... NO sorry, my bad.)
Decide now! ... Go on ... Do it ...
If you like explosions (and who doesn't?) and the colour red, you decide - Destroy Ending (one eye closed as you peer sideways and press the big red button marked "BOOM" tentatively)
And ... you live!!!! As do most of the galaxy's inhabitants, Those that are "more machine now than man" die and alas, so do the Geth and EDI (so you'll have to buy Joker a subscription to Fornax) But hey the Galaxy is saved and you are alive! ...
But what about all those warnings from ... gawd ...everyone! Like Sovereign, Harbinger, the Prothean VI, even Javik and his evolutionary imperative munbo jumbo. Maybe you've only postponed the inevitable destruction?
Ah well, not your problem, you'll be long dead before that happens, and you intend to have that Beer with Garrus now.
Or
You decide that you like the colour blue, and that you're way nicer than TIM. You're not indoctrinated for a start and well ... you are Commander Shepard! You'll take control of the Galaxy's destiny and make everything shiny and pretty .. you'll see.
So you've decided - Control Ending.
But ... you're basically dead to everyone you knew. (well that sux! I had some plans with Kaiden that involved ... well, anyway)
They might get that certain feeling, that tingling of the hairs on the back of their necks, that their friend/loved one Shepard is still watching over them, And of course you can still watch Traynor in the hot tub.
But you'll never be able to physically interact with any corporeal entity ever again ... Bummer! Maybe you will need that subscription to Fornax for yourself.
But wait there's more!!!
Before you can consign yourself to an eternity of ...erm ... Cerebral pursuits, Some weird Holographic kid appears ... WTH?!?!?
The kid offers you one last alternative. (what another one? <sigh> okay hit me with it, but make it quick)
He's worked out, that if they copy your complete ECG (EEG? Neural Map? Brain Wave Scan Thingy?) and merge it with his, he can create a new form of DNA. And, with the Crucible they can "impose" this DNA on all living things in the Galaxy.
Now this would be completely involuntary for them, and it's not certain ... precisely ... what the outcome and long term repercussions might be.
Now maybe everyone is still too self absorbed and nasty, and their minds will reject the imprint and thus they'll degenerate and cease to be individuals and become part of a "Hive Mind". ewww
But maybe, just maybe, people have advanced psychologically enough, (due almost entirely to your influence and shinning example of course),and they would be happy with the change and and accept it, and thus would actually keep their individuality,
...
The outcome would be decided on what used to be called your EMS but is actually now known as the G.L.I. or Galactic Love Index ![]()
Basically the more you can make races hold hands throughout the game, the higher your GLI is, and thus a higher chance of the Synthesis imprint "taking".
...
Oh and umm, about the Batarians, and Elcor, ... and Hanar, and Salarians, ... the Volus, and the Drell, yeah ... well. umm ...err ... Of course they joined you, .. umm earlier ... didn't you see the email?
...
You decide - Synthesis Ending.
'Coz you is Dah Shepard, and you've made peace between every species and critter in the Galaxy, whether they liked it or not, and your GLI is MAXED baby!
And the galaxy will become a Utopian Dream for all eternity, where Krogans and Salarians sit around camp fires singing kum ba ya.
And ... You'd be alive, and you could finally try those ... games... you were planning to play with Tali, if you ever got her out of that suit.
I probably missed several key events, and it might not be the perfect chronology for the game, but let me know what you think, or what I missed, and maybe I can fill in the blanks with more bullsh ... erm story.
