There's something screwy with it (but I don't think it has to be IT either). Also, they overlaid male and female shep echoing the same lines.

Male and female shepards voices can be heard because shepard is the catalyst. He/she has always been the catalyst. He has been there before, as has she. Remember it's a cycle. Maybe even a never ending cycle in a brief moment in space and time. The kid being used to stop shep realising this.

That sounds like a different kind of cycle from the one they're going on about.
And it doesn't explain having both male and female voices. Shepard can be both but not simultaneously.
