I'm new to this series but so far I'm enjoying the story and universe immensely.  I have completely cleared ME1 and I'm currently working my way through ME2, and I've kinda spoiled myself enough to know what to expect in 3 and further.   I will keep posting any further feedback and suggestions here as I work through the rest of the series.

Should the original  Mass Effect be "remastered" for newer consoles and more powerful PCs  (Mass Effect Trilogy RD would be a great name from a marketing standpoint.  RD for "Re-defined")  Make sure to add extended scenes and missions.  Also adjust the gameplay to take all the best of the combat aspect between ME1/2/3 and combine it into a single combat system for all 3 titles.

ME1 obviously needs to be repaired in terms of the inventory problem as well as NPC stores so that it will be as accessable as in ME2.  Having a separate kiosk from the NPC shop owner helped a lot compared to the "menu" options in ME1.

Also doing a 2nd play through of a game should allow players to max out all the stats of all the characters.   When I did my 2nd playthrough of ME1 and noticed the crew members were limited to only a specific amount of squad points every playthough and I could not maximize ALL their skills I was extremely disappointed.

Since ME is considered to have RPG aspects, it is expected to allow players to max out their stats by gaining as much exp/squad points as possible.   This also helps me to replay on harder difficulties if I choose to try and take the challenge.

I did enjoy the fact that the difficulty level is adjustable and should always be available.   I consider myself a semi-hardcore gamer (along the lines of game completionist) and while I do like a challenge, I don't like hair pulling, ucapped AI cheating that pretty much cuts down my options on how I play into a single repetitive action done repeatedly.

Romance/Loyalty dialogue  feedback and suggestions:

Being an avid J-RPG (Japanese RPG) player, there are so many options that should have been available in ME that would have given even deeper character depth and immersion.   Since it is possible to romance and create "friendship/loyalty" with crew members there are even more options that should have been available in ME to balance it out.

Instead of  just being able to choose "romance" dialogue on a targeted romantic interest between missions, there should have been a "date" option that would have allowed the player to take just their RI (romantic interest) while dressed in casual clothes,  to places and activities that their romantic interest enjoys.   This would allow players to solidify the path of the RI (or interfere with if the player decides to two time...) and lead to further dialogue and relationship building between the two.  This could also use a similar system to Paragon/Renegade except it should be converted to romantic interest points for that potential character.

For example, my "Shepard" asks Liara or Kaiden, "If you're not busy, would you like to go out somewhere?  Just the two of us.".  Depending on the romance points the RI can respond with, "I would like that..." or "I don't think I have time right now... I have to go wash my hair..." or some other excuse.

Should a date be agreed to then it will relegate to making the right decisions to woo their RI that can increase or decrease their affections. by taking them to places they enjoy and having interaction options with them in those areas.

I can imagine a scene where some potential RI's who are prone to jealousy, stalking, or accidently coming across the player on a date or interaction with someone else if the player has been building a romantic relationship with more than one at a time.

There should also be a similar "bro-mance/Sistership" method that can equate to loyalty points and focuses more on friendship with a crew member.  I really enjoyed having my M Shepard conversing with Kaiden/Wrex/Garrus in ME1 and would have loved to have the option to ask them "Wanna grab a drink/Hang out/play cards?" between missions.

This would require less implications that the romance side of the game but can open up a ton of dialogue and situations with the "guys/ladies night out" talk and conversation that focuses only on friendship or in some cases "friend zoning" some characters that are sparking unwanted RI in the player character.

Additional dialogue and scenes feedback and suggestions:

Just some thoughts of some fun dialogue popped in my head.

Salarian to Human or any other differing species - "Are you bio-curious?"

Bio-curious should be a term used for any sentient being showing interest in "fooling around" with another sentient being that is extremely biologically different from their own species regardless if interspecies copulation can not result in offspring.

Xeno-lover should be considered a derogatory term used mostly by xenophobic humans if they see a human with any non-human species.

**SPOILER ALERT for non ME1 players**

During the Feros mission with the Thorian dialogue option while speaking with the Thorian.

Shepard: If I can get you off this planet to a more comfortable world with non sentient species would you leave the colonists alone?

Thorian:  I will not be betrayed again. But if you are trustworthy what do you wish in return?

Paragon Shepard:  You release the colonists and anything else on this planet under your thrall. This could also effectively release the Asari commando.

Renegade Shepard: I don't kill you for one, and secondly make me one of those Asari clones... I know I have some very good uses for one.  Doing this results in Shepard having an Asari plant clone that can be placed in an apartment as a decoration and needs to be watered and moves around but stuck in a clay pot.

Regarding "Intimate Scenes" feedback and suggestions:

On one end some say there isn't enough, and on the other, there is too much.   As a 37 year old gamer, and considering the rating of this game "M" in the US for language, sensuality, and partial nudity, etc, I was a bit disappointed.   Compared to many R-rated films that show a lot more I laughed at all the controversy that "parent" and "moral" rights groups like to stir up over video games.   There are also films released on DVD/Blu-ray that are marked "Uncut/Unrated/Director's Cut" that have a heck of a lot worse.

Personally I want more.  In some films I don't want to see love scenes/nudity and I think they're unnecessary, in other films I want love scenes and full nudity  because they fit and adds passion to the relationship of the characters involved.  In Mass effect I am of the opinion that love scenes and nudity should remain in this series but be controllable in a gameplay options menu.

But in order to satisfy the needs of both those who want and those who don't want, an option should be made like this.

Since these scenes are created by the developers, when developing these "love" or involving nudity  cut-scenes, the developers learn to a plot a set time in the scene that builds up from PG (basic smooching/making out)~PG-13~(more sensual and implied but no nudity)~and finish at R(full frontal nudity, sexual situations, no private parts shown) going by the film rating system.

Now comes the good part.  If there is a "ratings" and parental control option in the gameplay menu put in by the developers going by the ESRB game-rating system E10+ = (PG), T = (PG-13), M=® any player can have the love scene fade out to black, or cut to the next scene after certain time if not be shown at all depending on their personal "moral" ideology.

If the developers go nuts and desire to avoid an AO = (NC-17 to XXX) for even full frontal nudity/strong sexuality (Which should still be an M but some of the ESRB folks aren't quite in sync with the film ratings board) rating on the base game but are willing to go so far something that "adult" in their game or an "Unrated/Uncut" version of their game then it should only be released as extended or unrated downloadable content  available for purchase with valid proof of age.  Any games rating board can still rate it as AO if the developers are willing to have it rated or think it should be rated.

And before we get the flamers that say, "If you want sex in a game go to an adult site instead of ogling polygons"  keep in mind that there have been plenty of illustrations of sensual nudes over the centuries. While we may see it as "art" now, back then it was just a cover for what the artist was really painting or sculpting.  Same thing now, but done with computers instead of a brush or mound of clay.

Suggestions/Ideas for rounding out Mass Effect "Lore":

Some thoughts occurred to me to make some more definitive and interesting aspects to the ME universe.  Most of them are about cultural and societal behavior between humans and other alien species.   This is quite a long list of ideas and I know I'm quite wordy, so be prepared.  I will break these down into parts as some are going to be very long.

The first pertains to the Asari:   They're too physically similar to human females which should arise to the fact that instead of the ridiculously low chance of a "parallel" evolutionary pattern, instead there was tampering with their evolution by either the Protheans or a previously advanced civilsation or both.   Here is a wonderful way to link such a theory in ME.

Salarians, Humans, Quarians, Turians, Elcor, Asari, etc are all from oxygen/nitrogen atmospheric planets.   In order for all races to be capable of breathing the exact same atmosphere a previous civilization (Pre-Promethean) should have been terra-forming the origin planets of each species for their own biological needs before being wiped out by the Reaper "cycle".   This would explain how each of these species can breath the same air because each evolved in almost the exact same environments.

The Asari on the other hand should have a direct genetic link with human beings.  There should be 99.97% biological similarty with a human female.  Everything should be exactly the same except for biotic nerves running through the asari anatomy (connecting to the asari reproductive system and brain), skin coloring, and lack of ears, and their skull shaped cartalidg.  This should explain Dr. Chakwas' familiarity with Asari biology since its its so extremely close to a human females.

Lets say either the prometheans (who already were tampering with other species) or a pre-Promathean civilization that was interested in studying the evolutionary process was studying both Earth and Thessia.  Earth has a much shorter/ and faster evolutionary span than the Asari homeworld so therefore human evolution was much faster than the Asari.

The link lies in the Earths ancient period where these ancient scientists decide to take a large pod of pre-historic whales (i.e. a prehistoric whale from the earth's Eocene period or some such fiction in the process of becoming a landwalking animal) mistakenly all were female.... and since prehistoric Thessia should have been covered in mostly water (with the exact same Ph balance as Earth) but rich in Element Zero, they transported the pod of whales to see how the evolutionary pattern would work in a similar environment but with excessive amounts of elemental zero present.   As Earths evolutionary pattern developed much quicker than Thessia, it gave this civilasation time enough to tinker with the evolution of the transplanted prehistoric animals to follow that of Earths resulting in the Asari.    The prehistoric whales can easily have adapted to Thessia, but life expectancy kept growing due to the long orbital period of the planet, exposure to element zero and the tinkering of the "scientists".  This resulted in a semi-aquatic biped that could be the direct relative of the Asari as the chimpanzee is to the Human being.

This information should be able to be discovered on two separate ancient science outposts (That reapers missed during their purge) located near or on Earth and Thessia or maybe even a live Promathean/pre-Promathean scientists.

Such a discovery can also add an aspect to an old earth myth about Lilith, Adam's "first" wife.   Curious to see how compatible Humans and Asari after thousands of years sharing the same evolutionary chain, either these ancient scientists planned a introduction of an Asari (known on Thessia as Aelith or something that sounds similar to Lilith)  ending up being the first "mate" to the one of the first cognitive ****** sapien males.   Because she is an Asari, she would be very resistant to being "submissive" to Adam and going along with whatever he chose.   This would result in Lilith leaving Adam and how he ended up with a human female named Eve.  Or Lilith could have been one of the very first space explorers pre Asari citadel era and was intentionally caused by the scientists to crash land on earth where she could meet this "Adam" to observe their evolutionary biological compatibility.

Once such a link is established this should cause the Asari to grow much closer to Humanity (and vice versa) compared to any other species since they would share a common prehistoric ancestor and genetic compatiblity.   Such a (paragon) path should inspire the Asari to start referring to Human beings as "cousins" as a term of endearment for the entire species.  Unless of course Shepard does not save the council, in which case the Asari acknowledge this link but are disgusted/ashamed that they share the same genetic code as human beings and will try to distance themselves from this connection.

In a positive atmosphere this should inspire the Asari to feel the need to "guide" humanity as they have much larger lifespans that humans, as well as a drastic increase in Asari travelling to Earth (think friendly interplanetary visa permits between earth and Thessia), studying human cultures and history, and bringing back influences from human history.  Lets say Asari fashion becomes more inspired by the 1960s 70s, or a deeper interest in pop culture (like the Shakesperean plays), music and more.   Asari will also encourage supporting more human inspired ideals and projects as long as it is considered to be for the betterment of humanity in a more peaceful and reasonable path by Asari standards.

More humans will be allowed to travel to Thessia to study Asari history and culture more in depth as well.   But it should be noted that most of the attempts to travel to Thessia will be by young human men who believe they'll be a hit with young naïve Asari maidens under 300 years old.   Such situations can lead to an increase in a slave trade of young human men in non-citadel space where not so savory Asari characters gain "status" in the criminal underworld by having a "harem" of human male attendants.   The larger the "harem" the more power that Asari is presumed to have.

This genetic compatibility/relationship between humans and Asari should also  lead to one of the most unique situations between the two species. Actual Asari/Human hybrids.   While Asari can have another Asari with any other species and even human females via their natural "melding" process,  it should be discovered that some Asari can become pregnant by human males by natural human copulation.   This should be an accidental discovery and not happen very often as only a few human and Asari blood types/ genetic builds would be 100% compatible enough with each other to create an actual hybrid offspring.    Although a system should be developed jointly by the Asari and Humans to determine such compatibility between Asari/human male couples to have hybrid offspring.

Asari culture leads me to believe that to them all other species are "Fathers".  But having an actual fully compatible male mate will cause the Asari to see human males as Patriarchs with the exception that human males have a grossly short lifespan.   So men can be relegated to "drone" status only good for mating and then dying afterwards like in a bee or ant colony.

Asari/human hybrids should be  distinguishable by their skin tone (ranging from different shades of pink to orangish/peach coloring), more pronounced ear structure as well as a more form fitting skull structure (not tapered up at the end like normal Asari).   I will post a picture later of what I'm imagining right now as reference.   They should have a similar lifespan as an Asari (maybe 350~400 year life span), a weaker natural biotic ability, and are incapable of reproducing through melding except with natural Asari partners.  They should also be all female as the Asari reproductive system is not a hospitable environment for the human spermatozoa carrying XY chromosomes which could cause a male hybrid.

This ends my section on the Asari suggestion.

This section will pertain to multiple species.

The Elcor (one of my favorite citadel species) should be completely incapable of lying or misleading any other species except another Elcor because they are habitually describing their actual emotions to other species when they "speak".

The there should be a rendition of "Taming of the Shrew" using an all Hanar cast.

For the Krogan "Romeo and Juliet" featuring two  Krogan in the leading roles that once show would drive Krogan females crazy as well as skyrocketing the Krogan Male lead to fame as the most romantic most handsome Krogan in the known galaxy amongst all species.  The Female Krogan lead should become ridiculously popular among many male fans.  One critic of the show should be quoted as saying, "I never knew a Krogan could convey such beauty, such passion, such voracious expressions of love as Hur'uk (insert female Krogan name here) did in this play.   I felt both of my dual hearts break after seeing such a moving performance. It was so...touching!"

In the romance route between male Shepard and Tali the Quarian, it there should be more detail.  For example as Tali has to take anti-biotics before any physical intimacy with Shepard, it would have been entertaining if Tali asked Shepard to leave the room for a bit while she took other sterilization measures.  When Shepard returns his bed and the surrounding area should be covered in a type of plastic tarp and bubble like a quarantine zone with Tali inside fully undressed (face included).  This is presuming if Asari and Humans are allowed to share a genetic link mentioned above.

To add to this fictional "realism" Tali should be extremely pale (in whatever color the Quarians skin tone is...) due to practically being in an air tight suit all the time.

It should be noted by Dr. Mordin that Quarian  and human / Asari relationships it should be highly recommended that human/Asari companion should wear a full body contraceptive suit (think of a full body condom) as certain human/Asari bodily fluids are toxic if received internally.

ME2 Feedback.

Fix the cover system.  It is absolutely terrible in this game and overly complicated!  I preferred ME1's cover where all I had to do was press against a wall or something and automatically go into cover, as well as press a key(on PC) or press down an analog stick click to crouch (on console).  Jumping over objects should have been simplified to this as well (PS3 should be as easy as while in crouch just press up X button to jump over).  I literally have to press a button 3 times to jump over objects properly on PC.  It caused me to switch from the PC version to my PS3 version because it was just too complicated. And even on PS3 it still is bad when just for whatever random reasons I end up either leaping over an object I when I don't want to, or leaving cover for absolutely no reason when I don't want to, and more.

The ammo system implemented in this was not really an improvement, but more of a hindrance in every way.   Having to run around an active battlefield with constantly moving enemies targeting only me from multiple directions because I'm low on ammo is not fun as well as not being able to keep using a specific weapon because it ran out of ammo.   Its a pain to switch to another less effective weapon due to this.  Overheating and unlimited ammo on all weapons except for heavy weapons (aka grenades/rocket launchers/etc replenishment) would have been much better.

As I've heard mentioned for the players that do the harder modes this = DEATH just for leaving COVER.

Another thing to mention, implement a gamepad option for the PC.  Some people prefer keyboard and mouse and some prefer controllers.  Why this was not implemented at all doesn't make any sense.   With the keyboard and mouse I liked the ability to target faster with a mouse but the keyboard controls were ridiculous (look at my cover/jump complaint).
