Barrage Upgrade is good for any weapon that has wonky stability and benefits from more ammunition. I'd say that it's one of my most frequently used gear options.

Interesting. I always thought there are better gear options (AR amp / Warfighter / Expert / Omnicapacitors / Stronghold are my most used by far). Gotta give Barrage a try.

For certain weapons, I view it as a headshot-likelihood-booster.

Barrage helped open my eyes for what a hard hitting SOB the Argus is.  Stability weapon mod + scope along with Barrage gear on my QFI, and she was showing me I didn't always have to hate that AR.

You use Barrage gear? Don't think I ever did. What for? I mean, which kit / build?

On weapons I want more stability for & more enjoyment out of some weapons. Lots of examples. Take the Incisor for one. I go Stability Gear and Consumable + a Scope to make all shots hit the headshot mark. There still some kick unless you add some Turian/Jug passives help, but this only affects really far headshots.

Lately I've been using at least Stability Gear or Consumable or both (in case of Volus Merc because he can't hard cover) for the Lancer. For Spitfire I only use one of them, sometimes none.

If anyone still uses the Vindicator, Stability Mod and at least a level 1 Consumable is a must to make it pinpoint headshot capable and in making this weapon any fun at all.

On the Saber/Argus/Valkyrie I just go stability weapon mod, unless Turian/Jug, in which case I just add either stability Gear and/or Consumable for the extra help needed.

Eagle needs at least both Consumable/Gear, unless Turian, because it's a great long range headshot weapon.

Talon I enjoy on a Turian + max stability help and scope, and play it with headshot focus.

For Hurricane & Temptest I only always go stability weapon mod. But for BPP I sometimes switch this for both Consumable & Gear.

On the Piranha I usually use at least Consumable or Gear.

Don't forget Hunter Mode and Devastator mode increased fire rate also equals increased recoil and ammo consumption, so Stability Gear helps here too. ie. one of these kits with the Typhoon. For the Harrier on these kits I usually go Thermal Clip Gear + Stability Consumable.

I've never tried Stability bonuses on the Saber. Does it make a significant difference?

I don't see how, it's very stable already. It's basically the sniper rifle among the ARs.

Sabre's problem isn't stability, it's re-fire time. Which Hunter Mode (sort of) or Marksman (now you're talking) fixes.

I love the Argus too.  Just like we talked about with the Vindicator, it can be a mid-range headshot machine with 100% stability.  It's one of the better anti-mook guns on the game with that setup, but it can really suffer against bullet sponge bosses because the DPS isn't that high.  Using it on an Infiltrator fixes that, I guess.

Some genuine thoughts:

I would go a bit different...

  • Try the Asari Vanguard with the Scimitar - It's good in SIlver and you have it at a high level. The low weight gives you a low cool down for BC and stasis spamming. Any ammo will do, but I prefer AP on the Asari. (Once you get the Piranha you'll find it replaces the Scimitar)
  • The Incisor is a much better sniper rifle than some think. Add the extended barrel and put it on one of the Turians to improve stability. Aim for just above the chest for head shots. Disruptor ammo works well. The Viper also works well, but it's less forgiving than the Incisor.
  • The Hurricane fits well with the Human engineer - Use Incendiary ammo and explode all things.

Your kit looks a bit weak for Gold, but you've got some solid tools for Silver.

What I would do is buy it for PC and make a thread asking "What would you do if you had this manifest" and link it my N7HQ for my PC account. Then I would buy it for the WIIU and make a thread asking "What would you do if you had this manifest" and link that to my WIIU account. Then I would get hammered drunk and talk about strip clubs or something stupid like nat in the hat
