I never got which bonus is better to put on an armor.

Either in singleplayer, either in multiplayer.

Like... is better 3% PD or 30 HP? And in general?

IMO: Go with def buffs in SP (I don't know from MP).

The HP boost has to be a large multiple of the average damage done by enemies at level to make HP buffs the better choice. But that condition is usually true only when you are relatively low levelled.

Example:

If you have 100 HP max and a 30 HP boost, and average damage done by enemies is 10, you can take an extra 3 hits.

If you have 1000 HP max and a 30 HP boost, and the average damage done by enemies is 80, the 30 HP boost doesn't even buy you half a hit.

You should also take a look at the damage formula as done by enemies against you/your party:

final_damage = (base_damage * rand(0.95 to 1.05) - armor * armor_multiplier * (1 - armor_penetration))
* (ability_multiplier + attack_bonus + flanking_bonus + level_bonus + difficulty_bonus + rank_bonus)
* (1 - magic_resistance)
* (1 - min(defense + front_defense, 0.8))

The min() means the benefit is capped at 80%. If you zero out everything except defense and ability_multiplier (buck naked L1 human hero versus mirror image enemy) and normalize the randomized base_damage to 100 units, every point of def% reduces damage by 1 unit, until the reduction reaches 80.

Now it may seem like 30 HP is going to be worth more than +3% always, but the +3% applies to every hit (of the matching attack type, melee def for melee for example). Whereas once your health is reduced below the bonus 30 HP, it doesn't provide any additional benefit until you get some healing.

I disagree.  My argument is the 30 extra health works against all forms of damage.  Most defense buffs are situational.  Physical, fire, spirit, magic, etc.  But health works against everything.

Stagger On Being Hit >>> Health >>> Melee Defense

~20-30% melee defense is way enough for endgame, unless you absolutely want to tank avoidable attacks by enemies that can't be staggered (bruisers or shield bearers in JoH DLC), in which case you should probably go all the way to the cap, and save before you try because those 6k guard busting hits are going to hurt regardless.

About the JoH DLC, how does it works? I should play it before ending the game or what? I mean, if I have alredy ended the game, what is gonna happen?

(No spoilers at all please, not even about the normal game).

Play the game as you normally would and finish it if you'd like, but maybe keep a save slot right before you start the mission called "What Pride Had Wrought" as it's interesting to solo regardless of your level (it scales pretty high with your level to some extent), it's near the end, and there's replay value for lore and whatnot.

You should play the DLC at about level 20 and if you do everything you can expect to be 25 or 26 when you're done, and you'll be vastly overlevelling pretty much everything else in the game at this point. It otherwise doesn't really matter much if you do it before or after completing the main game, but without spoiling anything you'll probably want to keep a couple boss fights open for playing around with the loot from the final boss of the DLC.

That is a very good point. I will correct my post to say the 3% applies to every hit that is the matching type of PD. If you buff ranged def and you never get shot at by archers, it is a complete waste.

I'm trying to recall the mechanic but doesn't HP also affect your total guard%? If you've got, say, guard on hit items, while raw "health" may not recover, your effectively health pool will always take advance (in a reduced proportion) of the bonus health.

defense is good but guard is better. And generating guard? 100/100 best thing.
