Suggestion: fix the controls

I prepaid $70 for your game, and it's unplayable. At least five things are necessary to return the controls to anything resembling the Dragon Age that we've faithfully supported:
1. Make ranged characters stay put when told to do so.
2. Make all characters continue attacking until told to stop.
3. Snap to the character selected (in any view mode).
4. Allow multiple characters to be selected.
5. Make the character go and get an object that I click on.
It boggles my mind that you thought no one would miss these things. Is it because Skyrim controls are like this? I'm really asking that, because I've never played it -- I've been too busy playing squad-based RPGs by Bioware for the last several years.
TIA

Tactical combat was eliminated (as far as I am concerned) for a more strategic feel. This made the game easier to play for a much broader game market (ie: the casual player or your grandma even).
EA aknowledges, that this direction leaves the hard core gamers behind.... but the revenue stream has increased! So, there you have it.

I agree with everything except point 3. If you select a character two times in a row the camera jumps to him/her (at least on PC)
But there also should be a way to tell characters to continuously attack one enemy and only that enemy, which would be important to in the case of bosses with additional smaller mobs.

I don't have problems with the controls. Button mashing is easy. ![]()

I hear ya, Sartoz. But is nothing sacred anymore? (:

Good to know, Bacchus! One down, four to go!
FYI, I'm enjoying some wine this evening. I guess I have you to thank. (:

KUDOS!
What you have laid out here can be said for almost every aspect of the new title and EA's / BioWare's new ... "strategy" ... to ... "aproach" ... the market with their products, for the immediate future probably! It's only about the money now ![]()
**** THE GAMES!
And all hail to ... "the new ruler of middle earth" - THE MASS-MARKET, the Casual-Gamers, ...
... the (potentially) 1 Billion "gamers" world wide.
Greed ... is the reason for this! EA is "hooked on a feeling"!
... this wonderful feeling ... ![]()

How was I able to play it then? .. 5 playthroughs so far. But anyway, thanks for the laugh.

Apparently a multi-billion dollar comany's obligation(s) is to its shareholders.
This means revenue growth is EA's primary goal. It also means corporate goals supercede any nonsensical ideas such as sacredness of the Lore and keeping your loyal fans content.
My observations is that games will continue to devolve for the sake of reaching a broader market.. the casual gamer. Grand Strategy games like the Hearts of Iron series, as an example, are strictly a niche market product. No way will the casual gamer understand them.
I agree with you.... nothing is sacred and game elements must be sacrificed for the good of the shareholders. ![]()

I totally agree that tactics are hosed, but what elements of strategy are there, in your opinion?

Did they explicitly come out and say "Your way of gaming is dead. Go play your silly PoE."? I thought DA2 was supposed to be a compromise between action gamers and tactical RPGers. I actually found the tactical combat quite enjoyable, and I thought everyone kind of had what they wanted. o_O
