Comparing it to Skyrim is a insult to Skyrim though
DA:I is a pretty decent hack and slash RPG.

I have fun playing it. Kind of reminds me of D2 in the old days.

D2 = Diablo 2? Not my type of game, so I never played it. Anyway, I think DA2 had better combat and, on the whole, was less agonizingly boring. Getting rid of the tactics was one of the stupidest choices Bioware made when developing this game. Sure, if they'd kept tactics and behaviors, the game would be even more laughably easy, but on the plus side, our companions would no longer be retarded and guzzle down all the potions at alarming rates. Considering how "talented" some of our companions supposedly are, they try really damn hard to embarrass us with their stupidity.

When D2 first came out it was like the greatest thing ever. One of the first games that I played Pugs with people from all over. It had co-op, pvp and trading. It was almost like a mmo but it had a limit of 8 people per game like minecraft. I remember trading my way to riches. Started with one SOJ then I had a few hundred.

Again with the ¨ DA:I sucks ¨ threads?
Where did anyone say that? If you accept this game for what it is and not worry about what its not. It's actually pretty fun.

But you did say it was an insult to Skyrim for them to be compared. When Dragon Age can totally holds its own against it.

That's really just a matter of preference. I really enjoyed skyrim personally, it feels like a open world RPG and that's my favorite type of game. I do believe skyrim is bigger and better then DA:I and that DA:I doesn't really compare but again thats my personal preference. Also my OP was probably poor choice of words.

I think people leaving feedback are simply trying the same tactics as Bioware - quantity over quality.
Perhaps the hope that the sheer volume of one-liner expressions of disappointment with a lacklustre game will wake someone at Bioware up from their post-GOTY slumber and realise that this game is not going to be one for the ages.
I must admit that many features in this game (crafting, horse riding, open world exploring, main story line length, side quest variety, factions to belong to, weapon and armour variety, etc.) make me realise how far behind Bethesda Bioware are at present. It's almost as if this game was produced 5 years ago, instead of the other way around.

And you have a right to that preference. I enjoy Skyrim for the open world part of it, however it fell very flat with me on story-wise. DA story was more interesting to me I guess

I enjoyed Skyrim for what it was trying to do, and I enjoyed Inquisition - But I thought Inquisition tried to be too many things.

Due to the freeze's and crashes and me not wanting to break my ps3 I haven't made it past skyhold but looking at the main quest list it seems really short. Up to Skyhold the story is kind of flat. You pretty much appear out of nowhere with the power to save the world all you got to do is build up a party/army and get to it. Now where have I heard this story line before, not very original.

Comparing it to DA2 is an insult. >_>
And DAI is not hack and slash, take it from someone who has played, waytoo many hack and slash.

Ho ho, as much as I agree with your post here buddy.. People are allowed to post their thoughts too.. referencing this right here..
Stale thread is stale. *yawn*
to which YOU, OP posted..
Then quit stinking it up would ya?
I will say that despite it being a poor example of an RPG, I still consider it to have some of the elements of an RPG.. Companions with quests, dialogues, and choices which influence their depictions or pterrot cards. They took a lot of other relevant factors out of an RPG however. It's barebones rpg at best.

It definetly is an rpg. It plays just like borderlands without guns except you have 3 lackey NPCs following you instead of real people.

I have to disagree. The amount of information DA:I adds to Thedas's lore is pretty flippin' huge and it's visually stunning (not to say Skyrim isn't but I think DA:I is prettier). They took a risk spicing up their gameplay mechanics from DA:O and DA2 which I can always respect. Like AWTEW said, it's definitely not hack and slash.

Its combat is hack and slash the ability to pause and attempt to issue commands doesn't change that plus its terribly implemented.

Hey, at least it isn't another thread about how the straight males don't have any decent LIs.
IT'S TRUE!!! Straight males don't have decent LIs. WTF was bioware thinking...!?
