One, the Rachni had very little time to recover, two Bioware decided to have the Reapers hit them.

I still had expected a little bit more from the Rachni, but not fleets. Fleets are fielded by the major and established civilisations.

I do agree with this. The Rachni only had three years to recover, so they shouldn't have a fleet.

Their role should have been as ground troops, along with those workers for the Crucible. Maybe the Migrant Fleet should have ferried them to Palaven, considering the Quarian fleet is probably better suited for logistics than pitched battles. The Quarians have a low population and all are aboard their ships, so a catastrophic military defeat could doom them in ways that a similar defeat suffered by an Alliance, Turian, or Asari fleet wouldn't. Plus a lot of their ships are 300 years old and held together with bubble gum and duct tape. I'd have them running reinforcements and supplies until the final battle, when it was all in.

I do totally agree. To me the greatness and greatest sadness of the ME Trilogy or "Shepards Tale" is the sheer amount of scope for storytelling in the ME'verse, stories that were never, and now, never will be told.

Even without completely re-writing the whole game, there are many "arcs" that BW either couldn't or wouldn't expand on. So many tales, and side quests and their repercussions, left hanging.

As i said, the source of great joy, as we can have conversations like this, and we can "headcannon" out own versions, and great sorrow, because 99% of those tales, will never be told.

However, i don't want to see BW "shoehorn" or "retcon" any of the stories from "Shepards Tale" into the next ME

If they can place some of the species into the new game without the use of "space magic" then that would be fine, but I don't want to see some poorly written "oh, look who it is, what a surprise!" moment added simply because BW thinks their fans want to have Version 2.0 of a race/character we've already seen.

As in the "cloned queen egg" That was just garbage lazy writing to me. They couldn't even be bothered creating a different scenario for the "Grunt reunion" in ME3 for players who did NOT save the Rachni Queen in ME1, so they just used 'space magic'.

And i don't trust EA! BW I believe have the skill and integrity to do it properly, but while ever they're under the whip of EA, I'm not sure they'll be allowed to.

Too bad we didn't see much of the rachni in ME3, they have enormous potential. BW should develop them more. They are kinda the Zerg of ME, at least to me. Thankfully they weren't totally forgotten and we can see them in TEC settling Tuchanka (if conditions are met ofc).

It still sucks that the only way to get that slide in question is if the player spared the Queen and sabotaged the cure.

A world state with everyone alive will not show the Rachni.  :(

In hindsight I will give BW a little credit in their dealings with the Rachni in ME3. The new lore about the Rachni being used by the Protheans, the Leviathans, landing on Tuchanka and them being one of the only outside forces to threaten Thessia are very nice pearls. I will interpret those as a sign that the Rachni will not be completely forgotten and challenge BW to do better with them in the future.

True, but I do not think this means that the Rachni are left to blow in the solar winds. The Epilogue wasn't conceived well if you recall. I like to imagine that if the Rachni Queen was saved both times and the galaxy survives the Reapers that, as a reward for helping the galaxy in it's time of need, the Rachni are pardoned for all past crimes, given back their home system and an opportunity to join galactic society. Imagine Rachni walking around the Presidium.

The Rachni reproduce extremely fast. A Queen is born pregnant, capable of producing eggs within hours of hatching and is capable of having a full functioning colony in days. In ME2 there are sightings of Rachni ships and the Queen says they are preparing to fight the Reapers. And do not forget that the Rachni fought the combined forces of the Citidel races for decades if not centuries.

It is not inconceivable that the Rachni could have built up a sizeable force between ME1 and ME3 though by ME3 what is said in ME2 is retconned. IF that had NOT been the case, remember that the Rachni were the only species other than perhaps the Geth that were preparing to fight the Reapers.

I have no doubt that if they alone were attacked that they would lose in a face to face fight just as the many other established and better resourced races did HOWEVER I do doubt that this extremely prolific and intelligent race would be reduced to a single Queen again after such a short time knowing full well the danger their enemy posed and having a perfect memory of what befell their race due to the Reapers in the past.
