For me its the combat. MP combat and SP combat but I have more fun playing MP. I like all the different classes you can be and the different builds you can make with the skill tree's. I like using charging bull and knocking enemies over. I like lighting mobs on fire and watching them run for the hills. I like the epic battles with huge giants and dragons. No the combats not perfect but it is fun and the most enjoyable part of the game for me.

What about DA:I do you enjoy most?

Graphics and crafting. The only redeeming qualities of this game.

This. + I like the large areas. Visually, I mean. They looked stunning. The Storm Coast was my favorite.

If you look below my name, you can see I've played all three titles so none of that "Did you try the other games?" when I give this list.

The characters have very good stories pertaining to each person, and the party banter making a return was good. The amount of banter in this game far exceeds that of DA 2 where I ran around Kirkwall and heard the talk between Isabella and Varric about his chest hair four dozen times a playthrough. I liked learning to like people more, but on the flip side I found at least two characters that I loved to hate. When it came to it, I didn't hate the end boss as much as I should have but I did empathize greatly with his second in command (both Sampson and Calpernia). They did feel like from their standpoints that they were being evil for all the right reasons instead of "I'm evil because evil"

The game itself is visually stunning even with some of the flaws that come along with it. Dragons although not nearly as physically imposing as the previous titles are still a splendor to behold. The areas are beautifully designed even though they feel barren for long periods of time.

The inclusion of actual giants is nice, they didn't just rest on their laurels with the giant creeple Dark spawn ogres. The monsters AI is definitely 100% better than the friendly AI, which isn't saying much but at least they will hide and they have stealth units that actually use it.

I liked the return of multiple races as being playable, but there's a downside to this as well. It seems they specifically designed all the races to be inferior to humans when it comes to customization. It would be nice to be able to play as one more similar to Sten and not have horns if I so choose without being forced to have a bumpy head. I'd like to have a slider bar for chest hair on a dwarf, and I'd like to play an Elf that doesn't look like A.) he's in a constant need to pee and B.) his arms aren't broken.

The game's combat is simple enough for anyone to pick it up and play as well. If it weren't called Dragon Age, I have a feeling people wouldn't be so offended by this game. It feels more like when there's a cross over in the anime aisle, there's characters from Dragon Age and the world is the same but its not really a Dragon Age title.

  • The equipment style (everyone maintains their style yet is very customizeable) and the crafting.

  • Combat is definitely the best in the series, though still flawed. But hey, it's BioWare and that's never been their strengths.

  • Diversity of the environments, yet not the execution of all of them.

  • I actually like the Inquisitor I created the most of all three protagonists, at least when it comes to appearance and the fighting style.

  • The Multiplayer. I'm serious. I like the full-character-concept, and I actually like some multiplayer-only characters more than many major characters in the series. More content and it could really hold its own even with people less apologetic than myself.

I have a lot of fun playing Pugs. It gets boring after a few hours mostly because of the same 3 maps over and over but I take a break and its fun again. I could see me still doing a few matches months or even a year from now. I would auto buy any MP DLC.

I don't understand what this has to do with what I liked about this game.

It doesn't, but it's a running joke reffering to the fact that it's chic to refuse everything but Dragon Age: Origins (the first game) around here. Also establishing seniority is an urge hard to resist. Don't let that be your image of this community though - Many people simply wanted this game to do a lot of things very differently and/or better, and are still frustrated by it. Nothing wrong with that on a discussion forum either.

Personally, I enjoyed all three for the very different things they respectively excel at, and am rather glad about this fact. That doesn't mean I didn't hate anything about them, I simply try to let neither become my agenda around here.

People feel it doesn't live up to the standards of DA:O so they can't look at it objectively?

I think for me it is the graphical quality of the world. Not so much the characters or animations (which were a bit poor) but the scenery of the places we visit. That was very well done in my opinion.

Graphics and crafting. The only redeeming qualities of this game.

I would say graphics.

Crafting was an interesting idea, but the interface to me was dreadful. Like everything in this game, it was extremely time-consuming:

1. you have to collect an inordinate amount of things;

2. Go to an specific place;

3. Navigate clumsy menus that give you little to no feedback (on what you are crafting compares to what you are wearing, for example);

4. Leave the menu and go to another place to add further customization;

If you have a clumsy menu system, do not add insult to injury making your character move around to navigate it.

Unfortunately there is nothing in this game that do not come with a huge "BUT". As I am writing this, i am remembering that, yes, the graphics are cool, but the engine was unstable as hell at launch - and for about several months after. And it still has several glitches.

The game passes a weird vibe in which you can see that the groundwork for everything is one of extreme quality, with a lot of money, thought and work hours on it, but nothing was realized to its full potential.

When I look at it I got the impression that a professional team made 90% of the stuff on it and then handled it to someone with no design experience whatsoever to finish it - in a hurry.

It is more like people feel it doesn't live to the standards of DA:O and then starts to look at it objectively.

All games have flaws, but DAO captivated us despite of them. The fact that this game failed to captivate us makes its flaws more aggravating and visible.
