. Where rogues(ranged) would use muskets and pistols

      . Rogues(melee) would use knives

.  Warriors(Shield) would use chevalier(meaning chivarly) style armor, sword, and shield

. Warriers( Two-Handed) would use chevalier styled armor, and use weapons similar to pikes.

. Mages would of course use magic.

I wouldn't mind it. It would be cool to see Dragon Age equivalents of people like Da Vinci, and such.

I would not like guns to become a thing in DA, personally.

I would however, like the secret of the Bianca style automatic crossbow to be discovered and well distributed.

I hope guns never are used in DA. Then it would be just another "shooter". I HATE SHOOTERS.

I wouldn't mind, though I'd prefer if the setting didn't change too drastically unless it was another series. The Qunari are on the right track for firearms at some point in the near-ish future, and I don't see how clunky, primitive guns would ruin much. Bianca would probably be more effective anyway. :S

It'd be an interesting direction for the setting, IMO more interesting than just locking it in medieval fantasy stasis.  It wouldn't be the Dragon Age any more, though.  And I think if they do set it in a later age with more Renaissance to Age of Exploration technology, I'd like it to be mostly separate from the DA storyline and characters.  Immortal characters aside, everyone would be dead, and it seems a little self-indulgent to have the Warden, Inquisitor, and Hawke still mentioned 150-odd years down the line.

Also, they don't need guns they have cross bows and explosive bolts.

Like Assassin's Creed.

I mean, that series used to be about sneaking around and stabbing people, now it's just CoD ever since they introduced guns.

It kind of already is in the early renaissance if you ask me.

The qunari, at least, are more technologically advanced than the rest of Thedas.  Though we don't know a whole lot about the setting's technology on a day-to-day level (plumbing, sanitation, agriculture, irrigation, etc.)  If the surgeon in Skyhold is any indication, mainland Thedas at least has some concept of non-magical healing and medical science.

Given that primitive cannons, muskets and organ guns appeared during the late middle ages the only reason we aren't seeing any is because of the Qunari death squads that target local inventers that develop things that might limit the qunari's tech advantage. Its why that dwarven inventor from awakenings is in hiding.

Going by the other technology including the highly developed and elaborate plate armor, the setting is indeed late medieval/ early Renaissance era minus gunpowder because of the qunari actively preventing anyone from developing it.

By the time all of thedas reaches the point of guns I dont think it will be called dragon age anymore because by that time the age would be done with.

No guns, gunpowder is fine but guns ruin everything.

This.

I would definitely be interested in the concept (pseudo-medieval stasis is so boooooring now), but I find that the propagation of early firearms is rarely handled competently in fantasy video games.

I mean, just look at Bianca, or those rapid-fire ballistae in the Exalted Planes. This stuff is exceptionally more complex than pretty much any black powder firing mechanism that exists. Pew-pew is already here.

But, god forbid the use of gunpowder as a propellant or musket ball projectiles. Then we'd fully cross into Cawadoody.

No guns or gunpowder or cannons for me. Railroads, though... yes please.

DA seems to be a mix of early, high and late medieval plus Renaissance cultures depending on the country.

Mount&Blade was ruined by guns, they even dropped them in the next installment. Just saying.

We already have cannons, which I don't like invading my medieval fantasy. I have pirate games for cannons. I don't want guns of any sort.

I'm in favour of anything which extends the range of fabulous hats available.

Given that we already have bows which can fire swarms of arrows and exploding ammunition I don't see how guns will distort gameplay, they'd just be another ranged attack in a series full of them.

I really hope we never have guns in DA.  The market is already saturated with far too many shooters.  I hope they stick to the fantasy side of things.
