As you well know, Plaidweave is the finest, most luxurious, illustrious textile granted by the Maker to have graced the world of Thedas.

Post your characters outfitted in their finest Plaidweave.

Modelling for me is Cassandra Allegra Portia Filomena Pentaghast seventy-eigth in line to Nevarra's Throne...

Cassandra is outfitted with Heavy Vanguard Coat Armor (I think)

Aptly named "Blessed Coat of the Seeker"

The armor is tempered with the finest gold Dragon Bone extracted from the corpses of the Fereldan Frostback High Dragon in the Hinterlands and the Abyssal High Dragon in the Western Approach. Silverite chainmail is worn underneath to add even more protection.

Adding to outfit is a leather coat fashioned from the hides of Great Bears taken from the mighty beasts in the Exalted Plains. Cassandra also wears a matching pair of (Great Bear Hide) leather studded gloves and boots. The excess Dragon Bone material was molded into the beautifully patterned studs that line the gloves and boots. Nothing is wasted. They give the armor a glimmer and shine that even the purest Silverite or freshest Stormheart could only dream of replicating.

To top off the look, a helmet of Silverite with Dragon Bone lining the eyes and face of the warrior. This helmet screams Holy Crusade!

Last to add the finishing touches to the whole ensemble, Plaideweave is used sparingly and in a delicate fashion to give the armor that hint of refinement no other chevalier can compete with. It gives it that "je ne sais quoi" quality. King Willow's Weave although believed to be of finer quality than Plaideweave it is used as the base with the rare more exquisite Plaideweave as an extension of the material. Plaidweave lines the inner part of the coat but only subtle hints of the exquisite fabric can be seen. Some of the plaidweave is displayed along the seams of the Great Bear Hide lining that reinforces the Silverite chainmail covering the nether regions of this particular suit of armor. The coat is fashioned to open in a way that displays a bit of the Plaidweave as it lines the bare chestplate.

Don't you want to just rip off the armor, delicately parting the plaidweave, and take Cassandra?

Below, Cassandra taking the armor out in the field. Specifically, in the Fade. She dresses to impress the Divine. Unfortunately, the divine was camera shy in this occasion so I could not get a picture of their meeting.

Below, Cassandra in action wearing "The Blessed Coat of the Seeker" This is a perfect shot that showcases the hints of plaidweave in the ensemble. Her stance alone and the plaidweave revealing itself from behind will shock enemies into submission. They cannot defeat a warrior so great and deserving of wearing Plaidweave.

Awwww... cheer up! I rummaged through my archives and found this for you:

Solas wore that cringe-worthy ensemble for an embarrassingly long stretch in my first playthrough. I relented during PT#2 and gave him a recoloured version of the cloth, to make amends (and because you can't have too many green mats, IMO):

Yassssssss!!! :D

Cringeworthy? I think not Solas looks ferosh!!

This green plaidweave. Did you dye it by boiling some Gurgut Webbing to extract the green hue by chance? Pray, tell!

Oooh! Crafting alchemy! Why didn't I think of that? *slaps forehead*

No, the answer is far more mundane... I used a hex editor on the Plaideweave recipe EBX to change the colours to the same ones used by either Everknit Wool or Plush Fustian Velvet. (Unimaginative to be sure, but it got the job done.)

Nice! I should've got this on the PC I have it on the PS4 so there's only so much I can do.

That's the carta helmet. It's not not a rare drop, I find a couple of these now and then and I think you can buy it from the hissing wastes merchant.

Love it! The plaidweave lining on the collar and on the inside of the coattails are a nice subtle touch like my Cassandra! Pleadweave on it's own is too loud but a splash here and there works!

Werk that pleadeweave!!!

My next model Cole!!

An interesting thing about his ensemble is that not only does it feature plaidweave but it features Fade-Conjured plaidweave!

3UhRhZX.jpg

Cole is sporting a Plush Faustian Lined Padded Coat and Boots. Underneath the coat he wears a fashionable High Dragon leather girdle complete with an intricate network of leather straps and suspenders with buckles made with pure Everite. To top off the look he wears a distinct Plaidweave patterned scarf with matching knee high socks. His fashion sense... courtesy of the Fade!

^Cole is glad we did that!

Next model is Varric...

MikHn65.jpg

Simply put Varric is a Paragon of Plaidweave. He wears a simple patterned Plaidweave tunic with with the finest King Willow's Weave embroidery. To finish off this look Varric sports a fitted Bronto leather jacket with Volcanic Aurum studded cuffs and Darkened Samite pantaloons. The opened plaidweave tunic accentuates his fiery red chest hair.

Varric gets ready to pull out his Bianca in this nice action shot. Doesn't this plaidweave hunk hit the spot?

Okay, before the armour tinting I wasted fade-touched plaideweave to get it on my Inquisitor's armor.

Spoiler

And I was able to make a some armor using plaideweave for Bull and Blackwall. (Dorian odd man out) They were my plaide crew.
Spoiler

Then armor tinting came a long and I jumped for joy!
Spoiler

Sera and my current Inquisitor - Bad asses with bows and plaideweave
Spoiler

Bonus Dorian with a little plaideweave to get the yellow color on Grey Warden armor
Spoiler

Better look at that delicious plaideweave on my Inquisitor:

looooove it all

The plaidweave collar always a classic! You're quizzy elf is cute.   I can't seem to make a decent looking male elf yet.

RRX3QWT.jpg

Great plaidweave warriors! Tsk tsk Dorian should know better. I thought he had a sense of fashion! The plaidweave under the chainmail armor and greaves is a nice touch! Iron Bull makes plaidweave intimidating!

Nice pleade weave and silk brocade mix on Solas. A great blend of patterns and the fur makes the look chic. No more insults from Vivienne and Dorian anymore! Solas is stylin'!

cQPCl1Y.jpg

Sera's plaidweave blouse is stylish from the shredded skirt to the worn rips in the fabric. I love the your inquisitors plaid sleaves with the leather strap arm bands! Dorian trying to be different again. He needs to have the plaidweave pattern!

Plaidweave Frenemies

The Plaidweave Divine. Vivienne's enchantress's gown features a nice princess-line patterned with plaideweave. That's all the elegance needed. King Willow's weave lines her sleeves and is finished with nice striped poufs over her shoulders. For her everything needs to be adorned with gold, she accessorizes the outfit with a golden dragon bone belt, dragon bone greaves with dragon leather lining and an ornate kimodo dragon collar. Her Hat of Majesty molded from the finest dragon bone.

sT1UKic.jpg

Vivienne practices her Divine Coronation speech in the upper balconies of Val Royeaux for my Inkie and Sera, Cassandra was lurking around somewhere and picture shy.

g4fJBpk.jpg

SjupS87.jpg

Sera interrupts to mock Vivienne's speech

RcI9kTu.jpg

Sera sports a very subdued plead weave look following Lady Cambienne's vulgar display of wealth. Plaidweave on her feet? It will get dirty and covered with mud. Nonetheless it makes it very fashionable. In her typical, ketchup and mustard style fashion, she sports a vivacious red highever weave top with a tied finish behind the neck and her plaidweave boots which have been branded "Sera's Unagreeable Boots". Also after the Grand Duchess was detained in Halamshiral, she immediately took the mask as a trophy to add to her look.

Bm01RCn.jpg

Vivienne not amused at Sera's mockery hits her with a mindblast.

8JjngTx.jpg

Poor Sera. Frenemies till the end!

VXyueGN.png

You know I've never liked the reinforced and superior versions of Vivienne's enchanter coats (I prefer the boob window) but the plaidweave does indeed make it work. ;) It gives it that little something extra which the Orlesians like to say as... je nais se quoi!  I love the plaidweave stripes on the Iron Bull's trousers. A plaidweave patterned coat such as Dorian's is all the rage in Tevinter!
