The Irish are Celtic, and have often been on the short end of the stick historically. Consider, for example, the treatment of Irish immigrants to the United States, where businesses would often refuse to hire them.

 

They;re still white though, which is what makes this whole thing incredibly stupid.

 

Skin color doesn't  mean anything on its own, the history does. The irish have gotten their teeth knocked out by everyone throughout the years, but cause of their skin color they're more privileged then most? A pakistani can be an incredibly violent bigot towards indians, and an indian man can be a massive religious bigot towards people of islamic faiths, but cause they're both brown they can't be discriminatory? Cause discrimination is power plus privilage(color of skin/gender)?

 

It's racist lunacy, repackaged from the 1950's and brought to the 21st centruty to make everyone thinks its good again. Like everything else a lot of hipsters do, they just took something from the past (racial prejudice) and repackaged it to make it the in thing to do.

There was even a time where Irish, and Italians, weren't considered white.

But I completely agree with you. The notion that some people seem to have that only white people can be bigoted, or only men can be sexist, is complete and utter bull.

On the other hand, we opened up the new world, brought the world together, went to space, created the means of going to space, went to the moon, and generally dominated all technological innovation from the 1300's to the present (with exceptions of course).

They can and are allowed to be, lots of people don't really like it though IMO, they expect females to fit a specific category of the kind of bulwark of morality or grounded sense, outspoken and such to counter-act their own passivity etc.

 

I don't think they like it when females are just as passive, critical, or as evasive as they are personality wise.
