The other two games had good options which you're free to mention here. But ME1 also had the Mako, so.

I really loved Nodacrux. Essentially like Earth, but magnified. More oxygen and huge amounts of pollen. It was so sunny and beautiful, but deadly if you dared to take off your helmet. Also, huge bugs. Cool concept.

I pulled up an old save to take that. It's like my Shepard is revisiting the past to experience a pretty sight again. *sniff*

Nonuel. It had the Renegade-only side mission and two Thresher Maws.

Hmm hard to say.  I enjoyed several of the skyscapes though.

(Just took this from Google.)

The side quest about the Protheans studying cavemen was great.

Even though it had its shortcomings (like the clothes with poorly done textures), Mass Effect 1 was and still IS a beautiful game to me. Yeah, there are better engines now, more resources available and blablabla. Technology is always getting better, specially on PCs. But anyway, the landscapes are still great to be appreciated. The same evoked sensations of dimension, vastness, wonder and awe that I got years ago when I first saw this game, I can still have today.

I wonder what we will see next now that the mako will return.

With the risk of sounding pretty dull (the pics posted here are just gorgeous), I absolutely love driving the Mako on the Moon. When looking at the Earth from there, it gives me an idea of what actual astronauts saw. :)

Edited to add: And yes, I realise that that's not a planet. :P

I just liked running around on the Presidium. It was cool to be inside a warped space like that. Although Noveria (beginning) reminded me a bit of Russia.

Solcrum. The massive blue star in the background, the purple gas giant overhead, and all the stars. I always buy a Devlon Industries armor so I can look without worrying about the hazard.

Couldn't like any sidequest planet enough because they were so boring, and often annoying to traverse. Yes, a nice view to take at each location, but still too samey.

For the others (Eden Prime, Therum, Feros, Novaria, Virmire, Ilos), I'd say Feros. In fact, I'd go see it again to see it in current gen splendor and renewed story polish. So interesting. I want one great Prothian planet trip again.

That's a tough question because there are many interesting things to see and experience. I'm very fond of all the main planets because they all have a unique story and environment with more detail to it, possibility to hear comments from your companions, etc. Those aside, I might need to go with Antibaar just because it's so pretty:

And, yes, I must also agree with Beregond5 about the Moon mission. I loved seeing Earth.

Virmire or Ilos.

It's a coin toss between the scene with Vigil and those lovable space crabs.

I loved exploring the planets in ME1. It gave you a feeling of scale, of... uncharted worlds... of exploration. Greatly missed it in the successor games.

I can never remember the names, but I liked one rather red-brown-yellow dusty planet where there also some random scavengers, it somehow reminded me of Pitch Black, even though it looked completely different.
Antibaar looks amazing indeed.

From the story planets, I loved Virmire. :D

Nostalgia

I remember how amazing it was to explore the MWG in Mass Effect. Truly one of the best experiences of my life. I can't really say what my favorite planet is, but I'll mention a few of my favorite story planets.

Eden Prime

500px-Eden_Prime_SLI_-_start.png

This is the beginning. The characters, environment, music and ambiance is on spot. A beautiful introduction to Mass Effect.

Feros

Feros_gmap.png

This is possibly my favorite planet. Truly beautiful. A haunting place. The remnants of a long lost civilization.

Therum

This planet was dark and gritty. It felt lifeless to some degree, but I loved it. This is where we meet an amazing Asari scientist for the first time.

Ilos is one of the best

The protheans carved into those statues were terrifying as they are a warning "This is what we ended up like because of the reapers, don't make our same mistake"

Also the snowy planet where you have to meet Helena Blake  and the planet with blue giant and a red giant.

The planet with the moon that was going to crash on it  was awesome.

Favourite Hub planet, well Feros. It felt like adventuring through a giant ruin full of history.

Same here. A couple of the snowy planets that were teaming with geth I liked because of the challenge and blizzard factor.

Therum was the first "story world" I played, and at the time had no idea about "unknown" vs. "story" worlds, so I was so excited about the different landscape (Therum had to be in the 4th system in the cluster that I visited, of course. :P). I remember getting out the Mako and checking every Tunnel entrance, and wondering where all the people have gone. And the music is so strange... one of the best in the whole series.

Hmmmm, tough call but probably Nepmos:

Spoiler

Love the skybox and the hard contrasted lighting there. And the side mission is where you fight rachni together with the exhausted soldiers is rather unique as far as ME1 side missions go.

I definitely have to go with Ilos as my top fav. The tragic atmosphere, really is like walking through a graveyard. An ancient alien graveyard.

2choxgx.jpg

but I also definitely have to give Feros its props. The Prothean skyway is breath-taking and raised the immersion jeebies to the max.
