Much better than putting flowers on a grave.

Notice the different possible outcomes in such a small menial quest.

Remember to put a [trigger warning] on the video since it's from the Witcher series.

Knew it was going to be about Witcher since before I even clicked the topic.

I think you meant your thread title to be...

"Attention Bioware, this is how the folks who make Witcher do side quests.  As you are a different company that doesn't have anything to do with the Witcher series, it really has nothing to do with you, so I'm not  sure why I posted a video about Witcher in the Bioware forum, but oh well, what the heck."

Not sure if that would exceed title length limits, though.

So, this much smaller, much younger company, can do things in such greater detail.

Wow, really wow

Sad really

OP is almost certainly trolling but quest design is something that could be relevant across series and developers, right?

I think it is a very valid point to show what other contemporary game design companies are doing at the same time as the current offering from Bioware/EA.

It's not like they exist in a vacuum you know.

And people who spend money on games, might be more inclined to spend their (future) money on games they feel have more meaningful content.

Or not.

Whatever.

But trying to silence players who show comparisons like these seem very narrow minded, on a forum discussing a game

This is like the 5th time the OP did something like this

Is the Witcher staff actually smaller than the DA staff? I haven't looked at the credits. I know W3 was cheaper to make than DAI, but that's because CDPR pays their people less.

I enjoyed the first two Witcher games and will buy the next one. However I'm a little leery about leveled loot. I guess the loot is at your current level once you pick it up?

Is the video from TW3 or from TW2? I have been trying to avoid story spoilers.

Also, there is absolutely nothing wrong with making suggestions in a Feedback and Suggestions thread. Although, the OP can surely use some tips on how to post said suggestions without coming off as so "in your face!" YMMV in how that is viewed, I guess.

I would like to see Bioware pick up the gauntlet when it comes to a reactive environment. For instance, in TW3, liberate a town and see people move in and you'll see the town grow and prosper. If you kill animals, monsters will catch the scent of the blood (even from miles around) and come investigate. I like little things like that and if it pans out, I would like to see more of it in future Bioware titles.

More to the point, people forget how much content is allocated to companions. If Bioware removed the 9-11 companions, allocated 100% of those resources to quest (which includes 9-11 companion quests and much associated dialogue) we'd see a different game. Not to say DAI has impressive side quests but generally "choices" just mean allocation of cinematic resources.

Or how about do it like skyrim instead of witcher

I like doing one quest and stumbling on a thousand new quests

Or how about we keep some game diversity and not wish every game was like game X?  If I want to experience Skyrim, I'll play Skyrim and tinker around Riften, Winterhold, and so forth.  If I want to experience Dragon Age, I'll play Dragon Age.  If  I want to experience Witcher, I'll play witcher.

1.  While I agree with the OP that BioWare could use more diversity in the outcomes of sidequests I caution...

2.  We do not know how representative this is of the overall experience.  This is just one quest.  Witcher could have dozens of quests that are 'place X here, get rewarded'.

3. DA I has these quests too.

4.  OMG go collect a box OMG Fetch Quest!!!1111

That is how dragon age once did sidequests... now I'm delivering an urn of ashes to a building with nobody in it because a note on the ground told me to. Somehow this makes me more powerful, despite nobody witnessing or commenting on it.

Disheartening.

Yeah but we expect better of bioware, what the witcher does doesn't matter in the end. Fetch quests with little to no dialogue that consist of "take this to that place" are the majority in DAI.

Nobody would care if there were a few like in DAO or DA2, but it shouldn't be 75 hours out of 100. At least give me some dialogue, facial expressions, a few parts that expand on the sidequest's story.

Nope, it's find 48 copies of Varrick's book. Collect 8 bear claws. Deliver flowers to my wife's grave on the other side of the hinterlands, no need to come back. Etc.

Don't worry, I'm sure Bioware is checking out The Witcher aggressively.

The polish currency is worth a lot less than the US dollar. So if you put the two sums up against eachother, it will look like CDPR are starving their employees. They aren't. Stuff costs less over there than in the US, so in the end its just about the same.

DA:I had 190 hours of quests like that, and 10 hours of story. That is the problem.

And they are the majority in DA O and DA 2. I was going a different direction with this post at first but then realized ME does not have a lot of fetch quests, aside from 3.

...and all of those things are in DA I btw.

Sorry. 12.5 hours of story. If you do the companion quests.
