And I thought it effected multiplayer only so I tried it on single player/campaign.
And uh yea it worked made fighting dragons real easy

As some, of us know there is an ability on the Mage class that makes you pretty much invincible

Which reminds me: I've tried to get the materialize damage to work on dragons (well, a hind leg anyway). I can't get it to work. Is there a size-of-enemy limit? Only works on same sized/humanoids?

Yes it does do that in MP, although if you have a lot of latency to the host YMMV.
