Really? I don't remember that, do you have a link? Cause that would count as an outright lie.

It was in one of the video threads (a long one) 2 days before release. I remember it clearly because a dev was talking about (in the thread) about the Keeps and how they were handled in the game + some Crestwood stuff.

I don't have a link for it, no. And I am NOT looking through all the threads to find it either :)

Reason being that what was shown here was completely different from what we got in the final game.

Dragon Age Inquisition is one giant fetch quest, the mage/templar war was replaced for a story that's far more simple. The things shown at PAX like armour damage, stronghold attacks and upgrades were all removed in favour for placing flowers at a grave. Mass Effect has always been a brilliant game but i'm concerned it will suffer the same fate as Dragon Age and we will not get what's revealed in the actual game.

It seems to me a lot of developers are doing this lately, Destiny was a perfect example. They scrapped the original in favour for a repetitive horde mode style game. I hope Bioware stick to their plan and make the game we all know they can, i would hate to see the game suffer the way Dragon Age has.

Jesus, that looks amazing. What happened to all that content?

No disagreement on the useless exploration of DAI. Scenery is beautiful.. kudos there.

However, all that available beautiful exploration scenery is a once only thing.... On replay(s) most abandon the exploration of static scenery....as in... I've seen it already.

That's not how I play.  I explore.  Being able to decide where my character goes and what my character does and why my character goes anywhere or does anything is a vital component of any roleplaying game.

If I replay a game, I do so to roleplay a new character.  Any exploration that character does is just as much a voyage of discovery as it was for the previous character, because it's the characters who are discovering things.

Also, in Mass Effect, I certainly drove around the uncharted worlds just as much (if not more) on subsequent playthroughs.

I'm not so sure about the massive in the voice_paraphrase statement. Improvements? yes. Certainly, I personaly had problems with ME regarding the paraphrasing... and with DA2 come to think about it.

I found ME2 and DA2 largely unplayable because of the terrible implementation of the voice+paraphrase.  But DAI I'm quite enjoying.

I still think a silent protagonist is better, but if we must be saddled with a voice then DAI is the way to do it (a full text option would be nice, though).

Consoles happened X360 and PS3. Hardware just simply bad and can't handle it.

Well, Inquisition by far and the away the worst writing I've seen from modern BioWare.

So yep. That's a pretty big cause for concern.

This?

I mean the dev said it in a thread here on the boards, not in a vid. The thread itself was about one of the promo vids.

In the writing (parts, yes) and endings, sure.

The gameplay was solid as hell, though. The ME3 team did what the DA team refuses to do. Take the strengths from ME1, the strengths from ME2, and combine them. Bioware just chooses to toss DAO and DA2 both out the window and start from scratch.

Well, yeah, the writing is what I'm afraid of. Gameplay wise, ME3 is the best.

DAI has taught me not to bother pre-ordering a CE. Some of the description for ME-N in the leak sounds too like like this experience.

I'm going to wait on reviews (by which I mean player reviews) and if people aren't complaining about being bored in a month after the newness wears off then I will get it on sale. I feel I should make up for overpaying for DAI and the stupid collectors guide.

Mass effect has always been and will always be the superior franchise, they have more credibility than DA

One good thing about Bioware though, is that it taught me not to buy a game while it is still 50+ dollars. Wait until the thing is $20 or less, which now days, is not long.

Ugh, definitely not gonna watch any pre-alpha footage of Mass Effect 4 if they come out. Did that with DA:I, talk about crushed expectations...

Watching these types of videos just makes one more critical of the final product since most of the time it actually looks more enjoyable than the final product itself is.

Btw, is Mass Effect 4 coming to the Xbox 360 and PS3? I haven't seen any info on that.

This isn't the first time Bioware's had to cut a vertical slice.

                                                                                    <<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>

True. Contents cuts is a natural decision based on game development that simply fails to meet a requirement, such as game flow, for example. However, I would add that in-game promo footage must have a disclaimer like.. "this is game concepts" or "game content subject to change".

I would love see the Next Mass Effect(ME:N, isn't this what they call in ME forum?) learn from both what DA:I succeeded and what DA:I failed.

I want to see the return of planet exploration but done right this time. No more planet scanning in ME2 and ME3. Each planet should be unique and rewards exploration. From their pre-alpha footage, I think they are going into a right direction by making planets less empty. They will just need to add more content to them. I want to explore a planet like Ilos and see the remains of Prothean civilization and discover something about them. Or Eletania where I discover an alien life (pyjaks).

And please, less mountain climbing.

ME3 makes me way more concerned for ME4 than DAI ever could.

Dang, you stole my comment!!!

No you don't.  You never get to see the actual line until after you've chosen it.

I will ask is the team that made DAI meaning writers, artists, coders, animators, interns the same one that makes ME 4?

The Mass Effect series was packed with annoying 'fetch quests'. We had to fetch artifacts that would later benefit us in game 3. We can to scour the galaxy for eezo and other materials to build our upgrades in game 2. We had sneak around in Game 3 to build our military might. I'm playing a soldier with a gun. My only concern should have been to point and shoot!

Weird. I replied to your post yesterday, and it got deleted.

Going to give you the same reply again and see if it sticks. "It was not during a video. It was in a thread about a video, right here on the boards."
