Well thank you for the funny answer but I was being serious.

Why do we need B1 Bombers stationed here?

I'd say it's tied to China, India and the presence of Islamic fundamentalism in Southern Asia and Oceania.

As to how they can do it... the U.S. founded and hosts both the UN and the World Bank. It has the largest military in the world, including the largest navy, army and air force, as well as the world's largest stockpile of nuclear, chemical, biological and cyber warfare weapons. Who or what is going to stop them from doing whatever they want, exactly?

Well then the US should unleash the hordes then hehe..

The China thing does have me a bit worried.   But the cynic in me says that if the Philippines or other country had lots of oil or stuff that is wanted badly then the US might step in. They loves their oil you know..

Honestly, domestic US oil production has skyrocketed in the past decade. The government learned the hard way that military force to secure oil is a revenue-losing proposition. There's so much oil in the market, refineries are scaling back their production to keep the supply power to prevent prices drops.

Not saying oil isn't on their minds, but it is less of a driver of international policy than in previous years.

Oil price is now 55-65$ per barrel. So things are getting good again for exporters like us!

120$ per barrel is my favorite price! :D

Well, I'm not sure we'll see $120 a barrel again any time soon. After an anemic first few decades of a start, alternative energy sources are actually beginning to experience some growth. While I strongly doubt they will be able to surplant fossil fuels such as crude oil any time in the next century, I think it will help to curtail worldwide demand to more stable levels, especially in the short run.

Just speculation on my part, though.

Yes! I was so sure it would end up being just a fluke / observational error... Glad it wasn't! Yay!

No we just need to get NASA more funding so that we can actually start doing that whole space travel thing... or start a space travel cooperation project so that ESA etc. can pitch in and we can actually get a working prototype or something in the future.

This is ridiculously exciting!
