Despite their weak credentials & Freudian stereotypes, Psychologists are technically scientists

... I think

Don't make me slap you!  <_<

I beg your pardon it's not humanity at fault but those we put in charge.

We elect them and they spend most of that time fighting.

Meanwhile other groups of humans fight over some stupid belief system and kill each other and attack other nations .....

Humanty hasn't past its toddler phase.

Uh...

So humanity places "leaders" in charge, and said "leaders" are part of humanity (unless they're reptilians!1!1!11 ).

Can you please elaborate how it's not humanities fault?

Don't let me near it, I'll do something stupid by accident like engulf the entire planet in a warp field and send it careening off of it's orbit from Sol.

Hey at least Earth could then explore space without the need for ships. And if the Earth keeps spinning we maintain our gravity .......

Last one in the black hole is a Murph!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Because around the world it's the 1% in power who make the decisions and the 99% of humanity has no say in what they do or a way to change it beyond elections...  I don't see hordes of people storming their governments to demand change.. That's what people should be doing if they are not happy.

Okay, I'm not sure why psychology was brought up, but let me just say this: not all psychologists are quacks. There are two kinds of psychologists: behavioral (which is legitimate) and Freudian (which is BS).

In Cerberus Labs, We have things to correct that. Also We have found a cure for several Varren STDs and in which that the Normandy crew was grateful for. Doubly so with Kelly Chambers.

Many question come to mind. Who would be a decent representative for humanity to be the ones to have the first one on one chat with a space faring race? Will racism amongst humans take a backseat as people begin to be xenophobes? What would be our list of priorities when meeting them?  So many questions!

I suspect the formation of a real group like Cerberus would happen. Humanity would band together because well we are all human after all.  So yes in answer to your question we would .

I wonder if there is a long line out Miranda's door to tap her :D

Abolition of racism because of first contact?

I wish that were the case, you are giving racists too much credit.

That's because people are P***ies and would rather complain about being spoonfed BS by the governments than do something about it, expecting others to do it for them.

Aliens might also have their own racists, sadly.

Like us they'd probably have expanded to multiple continents on their home world. Like with Earth that would probably result in different cultures evolving with different languages or differences in philosophical or religious beliefs. If they evolved from predators like us, which is fairly likely, they might also have our territorial and tribal baggage.

Alas no one is perfect. But we shouldn't assume they would be hostile. But of course have our guard up. I'm more afraid that will do something to ****** them off. Like say they have their own religion. One of the fundies go up to them telling the. Their faith is wrong and should read the bible. I'm buying a fallout shelter if that is the case.

what if their fundies decides that we are just wrong and read their things. Miliants comes in all stripes including Buddhist, Atheist, New Age, Ancient Alien theorists, Muslims, Hippes.

It would freak me out if there was a Miliant Atheist, Hippies, New Age Ancient Alien Theorist organization that is devoted to worship of Aliens that is also liberal.

Communicating with aliens might even be difficult. They might not use the same method we do. Imagine for a moment dolphins were a species on some alien world that over time eventually evolved sapience, just as hairy apes became us. They'd be communicating by high-pitched whistles and such.
