I recently donated to the Origin Humble Bundle and I have a steam copy of Mass Effect 2 that I am unsure what to do with. I already own ME2 on Origin and all of my DLC is listed there. I know ME2 came out before Origin popped up, but how was the DLC treated for it? Is all ME2's DLC now only purchasable through Origin and not steam?

A steam reviewer posted from 2014 stated that ME2 still does not require Origin to load it. I'm tempted to redeem this copy on Steam because I prefer all (or most of) my games on Steam, and my only copy of ME1 is there. But if my DLC purchased on the Bioware store sometime ago is only good from Origin, then what is the point? Can anybody provide more information?

From what I know, you can use the Steam key to register ME2 in Origin, so if the reverse process is possible, you should be able to register your Origin CD key on Steam. You could try that and ignore the key that came with Humble Bundle.
I know that DLC authentication is done with your EA account, so you should be able to play your DLC on Steam. But I prefer to play ME2 on Origin.

They way DLC used to work was that you bought Bioware points directly from Bioware, and then used those to purchase DLC through BSN.  Then you could find the links to download installers in the "My Registered Game Content" area.  After that you basically just ran the installer for each DLC and it put them in the game.  There wasn't anything you did through Steam to get it to work.  You just had to log into Cerberus Network in game once to activate IIRC.

I still play ME1 and ME2 on Steam, I don't have any incentive to move them to Origin.
