Each Bioware game,

be it BG and the classic... NWN... JE... KOTOR... ME series and even the black sheep DA2 I really enjoyed and as  a completionist player I really enjoyed to find out on second and third PT quests and stuff I missed.

on latest games like ME series I also had a blast getting all the achievements.. especially I remember fondly getting to steal an Atlas mech on Insanity in the campaign.

But as always my major concern was to have a good time and enjoy the game.

Dragon Age origins and 2 were loads of fun and I played them multiple times.

BUT

Inquisition.

For the life of me I can't being myself to finish it a second time.

I finished it once on normal using a KE and didn't even brought myself to finish the DLC when I got it.

Started second PT multiple times and never finished them.

Started the latest one which was Nightmare with Necromancer mage for variety and only got to Skyhold but....

I feel physical pain to do the same quests again.. for some reason this game makes me depressed playing it again for second time.

First time was interesting due to not knowing the plot but this time it's just boring.

Am I alone in this opinion?

Also for some reason I can't bring myself to paly the MP mode, on ME3 I got BoTb badge and did all challenges while playing hundreds of hours. On Inquisition MP mode I just can;t enjoy myself...

Help me purify myself from this heresies of not liking and bringing myself to finish a second PT of this game.

give it a rest...  it got out in late november, a second playthrough for ANY game in less than 6 months is hard to do.

A rest is good, I've recently finished my 4th play through and had a good time, but had rests each time.

ok, my 'rest' was to play a ton of DAI multiplayer, but that's different.

oh, and I knocked Assassin's Creed Unity on the head and The Witcher 2 again, but they didn't take long.

Unlikely I'll do a 5th play through in a hurry, maybe when all the DLC is done, but lots of DAIMP still to do, and other games.

Had a similar reaction after finishing the game for the first time. Decided to play something else instead. Now about 3 months later I suddenly had the urge to play DAI again and I'm currently having a blast again. I'm not particularily far in the story (Haven was the last main mission) yet but did finish all of the areas except Hissing wastes, Emerald graves and Emprise du Lion.

To quote Stephen King, life is too short to read a book twice. I never replay single play games, sorry, but I think it's a real waste of time. I just youtube clips for whatever I missed out on. Already spent 70++ hours on this....enough is enough (Was an awesome game though)

I really liked the game in my first run but on my second I just hit a wall. I tried running a second round on harder difficulty (thought harder fights would spice it up) but currently stuck in Hinderlands. I changed class and everything but still it felt like same old. Also couldn't leave all the sidequests but couldn't get my self to complete them either. There's a certain perfectionism in me when it comes to video games  :P I want my achievement from killing 10 dragons which I've already done but stupid achievement is bugged so need to kill my eleventh  -_- I will now just give the game a little break but I'll get back to it.

I played the first two times one after the other but am half way through my fifth and between those I have played, Witcher 2, ME3 and Crysis 3 to take a break.

This play through has been a real struggle though, mainly because I still want to search everywhere and complete everything.

I got my Platinum for the game =D.  First one, too!

As far as the OP goes, I played through once, put about 114 hours into it, and then I beat the game.  I'm on PS4, so no JoH for me yet, sadly.  However, after finishing, I decided to start GTAV on PS4, which I started, but in the middle of it I had this crazy urge to play DA:I again.  I finished the game in January the first time, then I did GTA for January and February, and I started DA:I again in March.  I finished my second playthrough, which was Nightmare, in early April.  So, the point is that I agree with a rest.  I'm currently playing Destiny some more while I await the JoH DLC, at which point I'll go back and do that.

Has to be said, collecting all the mosaics, all the bottles and all the shards does take a little longer  :)...

Yeah, just take a break.   Everyones tolerance for repetition is different.   I probably had 20 different starts in this game that never got very far, usually cause I ended up not liking the character I made, or I just could stand the game mechanics of a certain class.

Finally I finished the game through to the end.   I immediately did a second playthrough as well.   I then started a third and never made it past the Hinterlands.   I just wasn't ready for another go, which is a bit unusual for a new Bioware game.    I decided to wait for DLC before going again.    Now that JoH is out, I am attempting my third playthrough and my plan is to get it in before TW3 comes out next month.

I know what you mean, it took me a while to start a new character. It was really surprising. I expected to immediately start a new character upon completing the game like I did with the mass effect games, KOTOR, DAO, and DA2. But I would just get to the Hinterlands, do some shitty quests, and get bored after recruiting Vivienne, Iron Bull, and Sera.

If you're like me, it's probably just fatigue from all the questing in your first playthrough. One of my personal issues with DAI is that its first act has relatively little interesting content. So it ends up feeling like a weird long unskippable tutorial that only gets interesting at the end. You pretty much have to wait until In Your Heart Shall Burn to have the sidequests evolve from bad-to-subpar quality to mediocre-to-decent quality. Also, the top-notch companion and advisor quests only start after Haven. So yeah, give it a break for a bit so that the earlier parts of the game don't feel too familiar.

Don't push yourself just to get to Skyhold though. If you aren't enjoying the game at all during the first act, just give the game a break. As much as the game opens up and gets better quests after Haven, the game is still the same and you might feel like the game's boring parts just got magnified.

Breaks = mojo regeneration. I do find myself playing at irregular intervals. I think it takes more time to collect power early on, but the good bits are worth sitting through the parts I don't enjoy.

Try changing the game level to normal or easy. Buy the better plans for armor and weapons. Just learn from your mistakes and keep trying.

I usually play on intervals, like many other people around here.

I've got 10 playthroughs planned (1 already "completed", 3 in the middle of "act 2"), blame the romances for that. Still less than the 23 for Origins though (13 on PC, 10 on console, 1 completed for PC, 3 completed for console). All the different origins were really good headcanon food lol

Oh and another thing: don't rush through your playthroughs. There's been countless of times that I've picked up several year old games that I'm playing again. It's only better if you still have that one playthrough left to do that you've always been planning to do, at least you've got a feeling of satisfaction in the end and not a feeling like you just wasted your time playing something you've already done before.

As far as the appeal of origin stories is concerned, some DAO origins are more fun than others. I don't know how or why. Cousland and City Elf are my favorites. DAI doesn't offer six distinct openers this time. When I played DAO again after DAI, I really felt like Ostagar/Korcari Wilds, like the Hinterlands, is a point when the narrative loses some momentum.

But you get past these snags and hopefully get to a part you love.

I just wish that instead of focusing only on DA and ME franchise that BW revisits some of their old franchise.

Yes I mean on JE2 that never happened no matter how many petition from people were made,no matter how much this was discussed and repeated and petitioned to be made again...there never were news that JE2 will ever be even made because they got their focus on ME and DA now.But then I remember again EA in here now and I personally am not sure if JE2 or even a simple HD remake should be made because I fear that JE with + EA now could be ruined.

I actually had to reroll as a Rift Mage because Knight Enchanter is so brokenly easy combat became boring, and this game's combat is so bog standard it really doesn't need that problem too.

Also this time I'm doing levels in the "recommended" (although saying that is iffy since the game doesn't actually tell you) order this time, ie Hinterlands > Storm Coast > Fallow Mire > Mage/Templars > Haven > Crestwood > Western Apporach > Wardens/Fade > Exhalted Plains > Emerald Graves > WEWH > Emprise du Lion > Hissing Wastes > Finish Game. At least I think that's it. Apparently doing this way will make you way less frustrated (areas not too high/low level) and also allow for a pacing of the main quests between. I tried to do Crestwood, the Exhalted Plains, Emerald Graves, Emprise du Lion and Hissing Wastes all before finishing the main quest because my mind treated them like "side" areas to be done first, because they were all unlocked at once, but I got burnt out and couldn't keep going.

Post Haven, you really have to think and structure your approach to doing quests or the pacing gets very easily ruined.

I think one good encouragement to play the game again could be a story-based DLC.

I made it through twice. My second was way more complete. But made the final battle with Cory even more boring becuase I was too high level by the tme I got to him. But a 3rd is out of the question. I get to the Hinterlands and just ask myself "why?".

I'm hoping bigger and better DLC's hit to change my mind. but for now, it's off my drive.

No
the fetch quest the first time are boring, but doing the same fetch quests twice is madness.
