I never got that impression at all. lol. I think he's boring, but he's pretty well adjusted. And turns out even better in the end, if we save him. Hopefully having a kid will end his flakiness.

Jacob looks more like the normal guy to me. Don't forget that he is about to start a family in ME3.

He resigned despite being offered a promotion to stay. That's not a dishonourable discharge.

Yes. Probably the most realistic character there - hence boring.
I think his "boring-ness" is much needed though, especially in ME3. He and his girl.. are kind of reminding Shep of the good things.. family, children, etc.. "Else what else is there to fight for?" It's kind of sad what he says to Shepard... that Shepard doesn't understand and can't leave the action and the Normandy. He's right, but I hope he's eventually wrong.

Yeah your right the Alliance wanted him to stay in but he resigned over his disgust with their bureaucratic ways. Jacob Taylor was far from a CAT6 in fact had he stayed with the Alliance, if he wasn't already one he could've been a N7.

Jacob may not be the most popular character, but I wouldn't put him with CAT6

Best time to start a family, obviously.

Yeah, that all sounds fine unless you're the femShep who romanced him.

That sucks more, yes.. but it still sucks either way.
Because we have no choice other than to agree with him. He speaks the truth. For my own Shep, Jack has a similar, but funnier line. "I know you only have one love: The Reapers. That's all that keeps you awake at night. Too bad, because I'm a better lay." I hope Shepard gets his/her head out of their asses.

Honestly, that's why I prefer the likes of Jacob and Vega to the crazier squadmates,. because they're actually relatable. They provide some form of normality in a cast full of psychopaths. thieves and murderers.

Well, Vega calls Shep loco too. It's only natural the crew is that way. ![]()

In ME Galaxy, you get all the info about Jacob's circumstances and how he parted with the Alliance. I recommend you read it on the wiki though, the game is almost as boring as the guy. ![]()
I think it's more likely that they CAT6ed Shepard after Arrival (if s/he is technically still in the Alliance after being dead).
My FemShep even got the complementary armor ![]()

Where did you get that armor? I can never manage to find a mod that works.. or get them to work, either way i'm armorless, like an animal!

Jacob is the mellow one of the crew. I would not classify him as CAT6. He was not dishonorably discharged, he on purposely left the Alliance. Which, I would have, too. I do not understand why Jacob is so un-popular. When I need a squad member who uses a shotgun, I will usually use him over Jack and Tali. Both of them go down too easily; Jacob's Barrier makes him somewhat of a tank. On a personality level he is Kaidan 2.0. As a matter of fact, if Jacob traded places with Kaidan in Mass Effect 2, there probably would not be much deference.
I still use Jacob (especially for Squad incendiary), but their powers are way better. Jack's recharges are fast, Tali's got the drones. I wouldn't mind him in ME3 either though... at least for a bit.

Well with this final play through, I'm doing the headcanon that everyone keeps reminding Shepard of all the dumb ass things she's done or said. Every boss reminds her that she thought Asari needed other species to reproduce. Even starbrat will do that. Shepard will have only one way of getting lasting peace... jumping into the green beam because it's the only one where Shepard is certain to be dead.

No, no, no. That's not the way to do it. Collect as many war assets as possible. Keep everyone alive that can be kept alive, and then choose refuse. This way your femshep won't be alone when she dies.
Excellent. Hahahaha
