Bioware, I don't know if it is a glitch or an immersive affect gone wrong but when ever I walk through dusty or bushy areas of the game (which is about 80% of the game) the legs of my inquisitor always revert to this horrible tan colour, with texture sometimes drained as well! It doesn't effect metal, just leather and cloth. It is very, very annoying because I can't enjoy the colours of my equipment because it just reverts to the colour of dried mud. If it is a dust affect than no offence but it wasn't done well, and if that is the case than please, please, please create a toggle on and off switch like the Persistent Gore toggle. It effects followers as well and also follows through to cutscenes just like the persistent gore. I play on XBox One so I have no mods or anything and so many other players are irritated at this. Please address this IMMEDIATELY!

That's not a glitch. Bioware just thought, for whatever reason, that a staining effect looked good (Spoiler alert: it doesn't). Whether realistic or not--and most things in this game aren't, frankly--it was a stupid idea to implement the effect. Can't help you since you're on xbone, salroka.

Edit: I certainly agree that it'd be nice if they patched out the effect, or, as you said, applied it to the persistent gore toggle.

It's working as intended (the shader simulates dust buildup on cloth and leather below the waste).

I'm not sure why it's so aggressive and inconsistently applied. I doubt they'll modify it for Inquisition, but hopefully they change it for future games.

It's the 'dirt' that the armor gets when walking around, though it looks like the armor colors just bug out because it's just a color overlay as far as we can tell. There is a mod that removes it and is basically considered a bug fix, ha.

And it will baffle me forever that they have time and interest to do something like this, and then leave male-elfs with broken arms, male-gunaris with horrible clipping-issues (that jaw omg) and 2 usable hairstyles for both genres. It is good to see they have their priorities in order /end sarcasm.

It doesn't just affect below the waste. It wouldn't be that hard to create a toggle switch to be released into the next patch. it's annoying when the beautiful armour that Dragon Age: Inquisition has to offer is ruined because it just reverts to this disgusting bleached tan colour.

I crafted something in haven with custom boots (bear hide), and right away they were 'bleached'? (didn't walk through anything), and immediately looked 'plasticy' instead of 'cloth-like'.

Tried unequipping it/reequipping it, to see if it would change, but no success.

It's annoying, because something that looks good in the crafting table, can look absolutely terrible on the actual outside because of the 'bleach'.

I hate it, ugh.

So many people do hate the affect and Bioware still insists on doing nothing about it. I quess all we can do is keep being a squeaky wheel and wait for the next patch. At least PC users have mods to fix it, we players on consoles are stuck. Grrrrr.

Maybe the effect is tied to other effects, and removing or toning it down causes other problems in other areas? Ehh, who knows, I wish it was fixed, too.

One of the main reasons I prefer using unique armor schematics like templar armor or the dalish ones (depending on race), they don't seem to have as much of a problem with it

Maybe it's because the inquisitors armor has removable parts, but then your companions crafted armors/with parts don't seem to do that.

Or it's just something about the Inkys leather trenchcoat textures that the game has a problem with

Is there anyone who actually wants this to happen? It only takes 8 steps for your armor to become completely invisible under the thick thick layer of "dust", which is just completely ridiculous.

Honestly, at this rate the next DA game is just going to have to wait until I can finally get a proper gaming PC again so I can mod this crap out of the game. :/
