Here are some things you can do :-

1) Lower the difficulty

2) Upgrade your gear

3) Improve your character builds

4) Change your strategy / tactics

5) Play something like Dark Souls or Bloodborne to learn the real definition of a hard game, at least in modern times.

Playing on hard - I went there at 20. The first few fights are tough, but it's a welcome change from the main game, which gets crazy easy around that time. It also drowns you in XP - I gained 5 levels over the course of the whole thing (and I still haven't done all of the content there), and towards the end it's much easier. You just have to use your healing mist grenades and your regen potions.

I watched someone playing it on normal though, and it looked a lot easier.

So true. I hardly ever use them... well, maybe sometimes at the beginning stages of the game. Basically any gear you craft yourself is ten times better than any of the purple "unique" gear. In my game all the purple gear ends up into the storage chest as keepsakes. Sad really, but they just cannot compete with the crafted gear, no matter how unique they are.

Personally I enjoyed Jaws of Hakkon in part because of how challenging it was. I'm not a "tactical camera" player and I'm also not one of those players that that OCD micromanages their party members, yet I still found the DLC quite doable. (Still WAY easier than the Harvester from Golems of Amgarrak)

As for the last two fights, yeah they were challenging and I'm glad that they were considering that the final fight in the main game was a cinch. The thing I would suggest is definitely go for crafted items over purple items. Anything you can craft will be infinitely better than most of the purple items (as others have suggested).

Meh. I usually put it on Vivienne because I never ever use her (and because on guys it looks horrible). Even the Helm of Drasca is better.

Put those masks on my Inquisitor for less than a nanosecond. They didn't match my outfit and we can't have that.

pft the From games aren't hard

It might be ugly, but there is no better head gear for crit chance.

Don't know how it served her, but it served my Inquisitor very well.

Hmm... So tell it to the Arishok's Vitaar/Vitaar of the Dragon Hunter.

Those games add difficulty artificially by using action mechanics. By tying the character's actions to the player's ability to press buttons quickly, they simply add frustration, not difficulty.

Show me a hard game with pausable or turn-based combat. Like Wizard's Crown. Or Wizardry 4.

Aahh, I feel like an idiot when people say this game is too easy cause I always end up getting my ass handed to me a lot of the time on normal. I don't think I'll be getting very far with this DLC when it comes out for the PS4. Or I just really suck at playing this game XD

Don't. Many people here exaggerate how easy the game is, most likely referring to the later part of the game when most games become less difficult due to progression. Those who complete every zone are likely to become relatively powerful in later stages of the game. Also, some of them may be playing the game efficiently and that is inevitably going to make the game easy since the game on Normal or even Hard is not balanced around those who maximize potential, whether through up-to-date crafting or OP builds.

I don´t care the f*** what other people think. They may play how they like and enjoy the game most.

If I find it hard or tedious I lower the difficulty.

For me the best difficulty is when I survive the boss fights with a tiny bit of life left but am not bothered by the mobs. I have no patience to fight for half an hour and die.

Mass Effect 3 on normal difficulty was perfect for me.

I just wish we'd been able to negate some of the damage from the special ice attacks from certain enemies, since it seems to ignore normal cold resistance entirely? Even with a full barrier, guard and health, I was getting OHK'd all over the place... which sure, I was on Nightmare difficulty, but the main game was a cakewalk in comparison?

I enjoy playing my game on casual 'cause I don't have a lot in the way of patience, and because I like to play casually in comparison to most gamers. Although, I might bump it up because I find fighting my way through a level 16 area as a level 13 mage to be incredibly easy. Then again, I have some really great equipment with me this time around.  :P

Both the story and encounters in JoH were a ton of fun, I hope you give it a chance! :) I played on Normal, too, and can see how some of the fights could still be difficult.  If you're not already using them, a few crowd-control skills could make a huge difference for you.

In the base game I could run into almost every fight with my two-hand elf warrior lady and just facetank/Whirlwind the crowd into submission but in JoH I opened most fights controlling Dorian.  Static Cage kept assassin-types from ambushing, shield-types from charging, and despair demons from hopping all over, on top of lumping everyone up for some awesome AoE damage (Lavellan could finally go nuts with Whirlwind, mmm).  Also Horror is great because it lets you disrupt entire groups of enemies that are giving you trouble, like archers/mages picking you off or brutes doing their knockdown AoEs.  There are a ton of crowd-control options beyond those two skills but even just using those two helped me a ton in JoH.  Taking passives like Clean Burn, Gathering Storm, and Flashpoint will shorten the cooldowns too so you can use them very often :)  Oh, I'm pretty sure Cole was running around putting people to sleep, too, but I don't ever switch to him so I just let him do his thing.

Now I can't wait to do JoH on Nightmare, it's going to be fun!

It doesn't ignore cold resistance. Hakkonites however use a debuff called "Hakkon's Wrath" that decreases your cold resistance by 5% and it stacks. I remember once I saw as much as 14+ stacks on Cassandra before she was instagibed through full barrier and guard. The answer is simple. CC and kill the archers asap (wall of fire/horror/static cage does wonders for this but you can use any method really), followed by the mages (keep dispel/purge handy just in case) and brutes/melee. If spies are present focus them instead, while ccing the rest. They are extremely deadly especially in packs of 2 or 3.

JoH was a nice wake up call to basically demolishing everything on nightmare in the normal campaign, while watching TV. You actually had to observe now what exactly is killing you and why. That being said, the DLC provides all the tools you need (and much more) to go through it. The unique weapons are even actually somewhat comparable to a few craftables.

I played from level 24-27 on Normal and had no problem with any of the combat. yes, it was harder than the rest of the game, but that was a nice change.

The vanilla game was far too easy on nightmare WITH ff enabled after lvl 14.

If you gonna call the mode nightmare then make it a nigtmare like DA2. that game had the sweet spot in nightmare for me.

So this is actually a bad thing.
DaI's easyness kinda killed me for me

Oh and i do not consider myself a progamer at all.
