Just want to know what who are the lowly promoted players out there. Do you guys keep your classes at lvl 20, solely for the sake of the challenge and not the dunning kruger effect?

I try my best to not promote.  Been playing since release, 950k gold, and only have 13 (+10) con, 8 (+10) willpower, and 21 (+10) cunning (too many fun hunter builds, 17 promotions just on him).

 

Glad I choose to do it this way too.  Perilous feels kinda easy now, I think i would fall asleep if I had stats in the 100's.  If theres no challenge, then i have no reason to play.

I got a friend who leveled everybody to 20 and left them there, when i talk to him about promotions he says "Blasphemy!" sooooo i leave him alone

Too many different builds, how can you not promote..?  The game can be a bit stale with the same maps but using different builds forces you to play differently.

At about 600 K gold, I have 8 constitution, 8 cunning, and 12 or 13 willpower. I see no reason to promote if I like the build. But if a build is bad, I don't hesitate to promote. I can more or less solo perilous with lol-barrier classes and silver with all the rest apart from squishy rogues which I did not even try. Most of my willpower promotions were in search for a necromancer build that works for me.

My first keeper were without barriers, as mage class fan, i was attracted to Chain, Barrage, Fade Cloak and Mind Blast.

 

Nice old times (february) now everyone demand "barrier/cage or the gallows".....

I think all our first builds had energy barrage because it was so low down the ability tree, that it would be op....

10 / 12 / 30 kinda sorta. I like my toons at 20 and I strongly believe "the journey" is just a load of BS. The only way to have fun is with a full build and with the best weapons.

 

I have nothing against promoting, but I am not that obsessed with finding Perilous groups. I always join and promote if I get into them, but not "grinding".

No need, most keepers I bump into don't seem know the spell anyway so that build would not appeal to me..

What? I am at 18/29/21 and I try my best to promote

I'm somewhere around 4 warrior, 6 mage and 16 rogue promotes I think.

Should be at 30/30/30 attributes by end of weekend, so that's 5 promotions per class.

 

If there are new classes inbound my OCD tendencies will mean I will want to promote them 5 times to before continuing with others
