Which three Dragon Age characters (player characters, companions, or even NPCs) would you most like to see in future games, whether in DLC or in DA4, in order to see where their story goes? Could be your favorites, or characters you felt had an interesting journey ahead of them, or even those you felt were under-served by the plot and would benefit from some more screen time, so to speak.

 

Also, which characters (that you liked!) were you pretty satisfied with in terms of plot resolution and development, and you feel okay closing the book on them?

 

 

For me, I think my three would be:

 

1. Dorian - his plans for returning to and trying to reform Tevinter are left wide-open, and since Tevinter is constantly referred to but never really seen in the games, I think it'd be interesting to explore the region and get a peek at Tevinter society.

 

2. Hero of Ferelden - assuming s/he lives, I want to see how s/he's been dealing with the Calling and with the supposed conflict within the Grey Wardens.

 

3. Fiona - I know her fate will differ by play-throughs, but after learning of her backstory (I hadn't read the novels) I felt her story with Alistair was never really resolved. Plus, if the Circles are rebuilt it'd be interesting to see what role she plays in whatever internal mage conflict is coming.

 

Beyond that, as much as I like my Inquisitor, the ending seemed to leave things in a peaceful lull and nothing really compels me to ask "what's going to happen to him/her next?" (as an individual, not within the plot generally). I of course want to see what happens with Morrigan / Flemeth / Solas, etc. but that seems like it's guaranteed to be explored, so I guess I feel less strongly about "wanting" to see where the story takes them if that makes sense.

I have selfish, superficial reasons for wanting my top three back

 

1. Oghren, my gross little turd lol  I miss him!  I want to know what happens between him and Felsi and if we get to see his kid grown up.

 

2. Zevran because I am very sad we didn't get a side quest with him in DA:I involving assassins out to get the Inquisitor!

 

3. Sten!!!!!!  I just want to hear him say "no" one more time *sobs*

1. Solas (hehhh). For all of the obvious reasons, and because my Lavellan needs some closure. pls Bioware. D:

2. The Warden and the Calling stuff, in all honesty.

3. Hmmm! Sten would be interesting considering his new role in Thedas, now that I think of it.

 

As for characters I'm fine with staying resolved, most of the companions I guess? XD I don't need to see Wynne again, or Shale or Merrill and Fenris, for instance. Though Anders could be fun! I'd love (in a horrible kind of way) to see how much that's inevitably disintegrated. xD

Sera... (Come on, in Inquisition, she ends just about secure enough to start changing her look on the world if she wants, IMHO)

Valya (Yeah, since Isseya's is over, and this Mage caught my interest in the book, partially thanks to the Big Reveal she makes)

Hmm... All three are Elven women... Does this say anything about me...?

None, really, at least not on their own. I tend to get too attached to the NPCs in the context of their friendship with my own character to want to see them without the protagonist -- it always makes me sad how little such bonds matter to Bioware, seeing as how everybody can't seem to wait to drop us like a hot potato and never look back as soon as the main villain is dead. I would like to play the Inquisitor again and enjoy more time with her buddies (especially Cassandra and Cole), but there's little hope for that.

 

Solas, who used to be my third favourite before the big reveal, honestly doesn't interest me much anymore. Though I'd still prefer to resolve his story arc with the Inquisitor instead of a new protagonist who has zero prior knowledge or connection to him.

1. The Architect. Corypheus has proved that just "killing" the ancient darkspawn magisters doesn't actually kill them as long as they have a tainted host to project their soul or whatever it is into, and Utha was right there, so even for those players that did not spare him in Awakening there are still to many unanswered questions with this character. Where is he, if you "killed" him? What is he doing now? If you allied with him, what exactly are he and the Warden-Commander doing, and what are the implications for the Wardens and Thedas at large?

 

2. Calpernia. She is a really interesting character, with a lot of potential to grow and become a great ally or greater foe, specially if the next games go further North. And she's alive no matter what you do - you either let her go or she runs away if you go Templar-side, or her death is never even hinted at if you go mage-side. She's out there, and I wanna see her again and see where her Tevinter revolution is going.

 

3. Maevaris. Mae is the best. Give me Mae as a companion. Give me Mae as an advisor. Give me Mae as a friend, ally, anything. Just give me more Mae.

 

That's it, really. I'm give or take on repeating companions; so far none of the followers who crossed over to the next game have been that great on their second take, so maybe we ought to just have a full new companion team and leave the repeating characters only as NPCs.

I'd rather DAI be the final story for pretty much all the cast, save the obvious ones being set up for something like Solas.

Especially the DAO characters; since the Warden is apparently never appearing again, I'd rather the characters who are potentially close to them stay out of it too so they can actually have a decent ending rather than get shoved off screen and apparently never be involved in their significant other's life.

I would enjoy hearing about just about all the companions/PCs, but that doesn't mean I need to see them. Otherwise:

 

1) Solas (for obvious cliffhanger reasons)

2) Inquisitor (or rather, I'd like to discover more about the anchor/orb. I assume this might be covered in any Solas expanding story though)

1) Lavellan - I have little doubt about Solas's return but I want to see my Lavellan, who romanced him, fighting to save him or against him or something. Because I truly believe they still care for one another so I want like a dangerous love story like Scandal or between Ygritte/Jon Snow. Not to romanticize the situation of course but to handle it just as delicately as Scandal and GoT did with those relationships. I don't want a "pop in and out" kinda thing either like Hawke—maybe as a party companion? I dunno.

 

2) Dorian - I wanna see what's going on in Tevinter and what he's done.

 

3) Hero of Ferelden - (if alive) She went to the west to find a cure for the Calling but now there's the deal with the Wardens and helping them rebuild.

 

There are too many questions and too many characters I want to come back. They must.

I don't care if it's by cutscene or codex entry, I want proper closure for my HoF. I'd rather they never mentioned her again after DA:O than have her up and disappear on a quest the developers have pretty much said they won't let us see.
I'd like to see more of Shale, assuming she's still around.
And Sten. Still -just- my fave Qunari.

I think Varric & Bianca have a bit of unfinished business, but DLC could wrap that up.
