The other problem I had when I invited her up the one time is that lame story about Hackett  giving her my dogtags. I would like to ask her why he gave them to her.

It's just better to not invite her.

I don't actually mind being friendly with her ( bought the DLC, after all), but it's almost impossible to be friends without something goofy happening. With Liara, it's like "all or nothing".

Calling Shepard a "Hero" (in the typical sense of the word) is calling them Paragon. THAT was the descriptor for Paragon. "Be the Ultimate Hero". While Renegade is "Be the ultimate Badass". I see them as heroic myself, but this is stepping on people's toes a bit too much.

The guy who electrocutes batarians from behind and withholds medigel from suffering Salarians is not a hero. Not to mention some dude who punches women on live TV. That kind of thing would get you blacklisted for life, if it was remotely realistic.

"I thought you were a hero! Heroes don't do things like this."

And yet he is a legend/God according to VS, Alliance soldiers still look up to him, his name still works as an advertisement... That's what I refer to when calling him a hero. The world perceives Shepard as hero. In the worst case scenario, there are some people who think he's a jerk but 1) a lot of those people end up dead 2) survivors are too few compared to people praising Shepard 3) some of those people forgive Shepard because he's too awesome (Balak).

The VS is off their rocker. And the last thing I want to do is play a Shepard who believes in this bullshit. That's a trap for a lot of celebrities, and why some are considered obnoxious. This is going to be MY choice. I think it's part of the game itself to decide on that..it'll even shape how you make that final choice. Someone who actually believes stuff like this would have no prob choosing things like Control and becoming a literal god over others. Or choosing Synthesis, in one last act of saintly generosity. While someone who just saw themselves as a man or woman is going to think about their own simple needs occasionally.

My favorite teammates are the ones who don't worship Shepard. Wrex, Jack, even Vega transitions from "fanboy #1" in his cartoon to knowing Shepard is "just human".

I make an exception for Legion though. He doesn't even understand why he does it himself. That's OK. :D
