The gameplay trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops III has finally hit the internet and it looks like it'll be a ton of fun. I'm a big fan of what the story looks to do, and gives me a massive Deus Ex vibe. Interested to see where this goes.

Along with the trailer, a number of interviews and previews have hit the internet. Black Ops 3 puts an emphasis on player customization and choice in regards to how they build their character. For the first time in the franchise's history, players can customize their campaign character's appearance and gender, and like Black Ops 2, can upgrade abilities and weapons as the campaign progresses.

Read me!

"For the first time in the franchise's history, the campaign's protagonist is fully customizable. In addition to upgrading abilities, changing your character's appearance and tweaking weapons, players can pick the gender of their Call of Duty hero. "It's not just a female head on a male body. It's a different set of animations for the entire game," Lamia says. Character interaction will even differ based on the protagonist's gender. "We knew we were going to do fully unique male, fully unique female for all scenes and all the customization that goes for both. Thank God for Blu-ray, right?" Campaign Director and Senior Executive Producer, Jason Blundell, jokes, adding the game's protagonist is fully voiced regardless of gender."

Looks like Black Ops 2 was like Jedi Knight II and Black Ops 3 will be like Jedi Academy.

I don't know what Black Ops 1 was like because I never attended to it. Maybe it was like The Phantom Menace: the video game!?

Not feeling it, actually seems to look worse graphically and Treyarch has reverted back to their habit of ripping off the original Call of Duty A-team.

As if I needed more proof after their previous games that Treyarch is and always will be just a B-team.

So the day has finally come when Call of Duty becomes just as much as an RPG as many recent RPG's themselves?

lel

That being said it will probably has such a small insignificant campaign that its RPG elements won't really matter..

I loved Black Ops 2, so I'll be interested in what Black Ops 3 has to offer.

Black Ops 2 was great. Raul was a great villain, decent enough storyline with a lot of good choices and consequences (handled a lot better than many RPGs that have this feature).

Not interested in the franchise though as much as I used to, so I'll pass on this, unless of course friends that I trust say it is worth it.

Seems pretty cool. Always up for player choice and customizable protagonists. Have to keep my eye on this.

BO2 had arguably the best story in any COD game. Understandable, since the writer was the guy who worked on The Dark Knight, IIRC. And yes, Raul Menedez was awesome. Cordis die!

Please be excited

NOTE: Customization is good though! Always a fan of that, just not Call of Duty.

I have a rule for my games. its a small rule but i hope you will agree whith me.

that rule is. its story must have more effort and a beter storyline than an eppisode of Peppa Pig.

Black Ops II was freaking awesome. It's the only Call of Duty where I prestiged all 10 times. I really want to do it again should Black Ops III deliver.

Going by Blops 1 and 2, you'll probably be disappointed.

Haven't played a COD game since Black Ops 1, which I still haven't finished, and here's how the last COD game currently look in my spreadsheet I use to track my game buys:

CODAWPass.png

It is currently the only game with a "Pass" under the "Initial" column. Will this one join it, I wonder? Are COD campaigns still 5 1/2 hours long?

Multiple choice in the campaign and the excellent multiplayer made Black Ops II so worth it. With 4-player co-op campaign and cybernetic abilities in this one, I really expect Black Ops III to be awesome.
