The only time I've seen that in a "modern" military game is in MGS4 and Half-life.
Speaking of MGS4, I find it funny how much CoD has been milking the "War is changing" theme for some time now.

Uh oh, female protagonists! Must be an invasion by the feminazis here to neuter all your protagonists! Honestly you guys make a bigger deal out of this than they do.
It doesn't have to be a strawma- oh wait, yes it does.

The idea of a female protagnoist in a war game is absolutely ridiculous. Men are warriors, women are cooks. It's not a slight on women, it's just the way it is.

Already preordered, looks good. Coop, more customisation, playable female protagonist, thats all i can ask. ![]()
So, first they rip off of Titanfall with Advanced Warfare, and now they're ripping off of Deus Ex. I pity the people that have to work on this **** franchise, I really do.
Agree, titanfall invented double jumps and wall running...ten years later than the king of the arena shooters unreal tournament. ![]()
Deus ex is just typical cyperbunk setting and all these technology and themes that deus ex and titalfall and aw, bo covers are commong hypotethic scenarios and technologies in popular science magazines or old scifi books/tv shows or movies.
And i like that setting.
Also nice tweets from pc dev from treyarc:
BlackOps3 will ship with an adjustable FOV slider. (Same as previous BlackOps PC titles.)
BlackOps3 PC will use 100% dedicated servers for all ranked matches. (Same as previous BlackOps PC titles.) This is how we do it.
I don't like FPS caps on PC, unless necessary for balance or server performance in ranked matches... (1/2)
BlackOps2 = uncapped in SP/ZM, max 200 in MP. It's too early to say what we can do in BlackOps3, but that's my thinking on the topic. (2/2)
I kind of liked fps cap, because it gives too big unfair advantage to have uncapped. I would love to go 4k gaming, but it takes ages to get there if i have to play with super high fps.
So much good games coming. deus ex, bo 3, mass effect, fo4(?).

Is that like a favorite pass-time of the BSN or something? Posting Strawmen and Memes? Guess it was only a matter of time till the 2 collided.

Word? Someone here was sh*tting on the idea of female protagonists as an invasion by feminazis? You're trying too hard, sweetie.

Well for starters we weren't losing our minds over a female protagonist. In fact we're just joking around and at the same time appalled at the constant whining even if a female protagonist is implemented.

Tbh, I was, I don't think there's anything worse in this world than being a woman, and even having the option in this game is making me boycott it.

Black Ops 1 and 2 were both good, and WaW is still my favorite Call of Duty game, so I have faith in Treyarch. Infinity Ward lost me when they did MW2 (which was complete s**t online and practically "started" the plot for the MW series since CoD4 is so standalone), and Advanced Warfare didn't really hold me beyond the campaign and Exo Zombies. I very much dislike the exo elements in multiplayer and was sad when they removed the Classic playlists that disabled the exo.
So, in short, I am actually looking forward to BO3. The unique characters in multiplayer is a great idea on paper, and I very much want to see how it plays out. That, and the Treyarch campaigns have always been better than the IW campaigns (plus Zombies). edit: Also, the 4-player co-op campaign. There hasn't been a proper co-op campaign since WaW, so it's refreshing to see that return. Apparently it isn't just a tacked-on thing too, the missions are being designed with 4 players in mind, so it isn't as if the game is just dumping 3 other people into a single-player session.
I heard that you can customize the person you play as in the campaign. Is it like BO2 where you can create the loadout you start with, or do you actually customize the character? Nevermind I actually read the OP. Is it going to have branching decisions like BO2?

Gender customization? Well, count me in.
Also, lmao people have problem with "killing" women in games? *roll eyes*
Gimme more female enemies, more female villains. I have no problem "killing" them just like with men.
Besides there have been games with female enemies, i don't remember anyone than (most likely) Anita, making a fuss about it.

You think that's bad, some people are trying to turn MKX into an issue in-regards to character designs

Yeah, Haven Troopers (or was it Ocelot's Fist?) were awesome and charming.
Hopefully the Phantom Pain will include female mooks, though I doubt that. ![]()

And he remains to be the best part of AW, as he is the best part of anything he's in. And also things he's not in.
Cassie Cage is awesome.
I love how people make a big deal about Mileena or Jade in MK9 having triple D's and perfect frames, but nobody bats an eye when Cassie comes in with a skin-tight leather body suit and t*ts only slightly smaller than her head.
All that said, Cassie is my favorite new character from MKX. Her banter with everyone is perfect.
